Why is «Brave1» your tag?
Brave 1. Ha sido feliz durante más de 10 años. Pasé alrededor de 10 años jugando con otras palabras, quería un tag realmente bueno y que fuera agradable al escribirlo, que la gente lo recordase.
Así que empecé a escribir (Brave 1) en 1997. Escribí un montón de nombres y palabras diferentes, pero dejé de escribir la mayoría de ellos cuando empecé a escribir Brave 1.
Tomé la decisión de empezar a escribir ‘ Brave 1 ‘, mientras boceteaba en una BlackBook en un viaje en tren entre Londres Paddingdton & Newquay en el oeste de Inglaterra.
Aquel día en el tren había estado tratando de pensar en el tag definitivo, «ya sabes» si eres un escritor!
Hice listas «de tags buenos» en mi BlackBook ….. todavía lo hago a veces !
Así que en ese viaje en tren de aquel día lo adopté , lo llevé conmigo y ha estado conmigo en cada viaje que he realizado desde entoncés.
Brave 1. It’s been Brave for over 10 years. I spent about 10 years messing around with other words n that, I wanted a really good tag, and one that was nice to write, one that people would remember.
So I started writing ( BRAVE 1 ) in 1997. I written loads of different names & words, but I stopped writing most of them when I started writing Brave 1.
I made the decision to start writing ‘BRAVE 1’ whilst sketching in a BlackBook on a train journey between London Paddingdton & Newquay in the west of England.
That day on the train I’d been trying to think of the ultimate tag, y’know ‘like you do’ if you’re a writer!
I made lists «of good taggs» in my black book …..I still do sometimes!
So yeah on that train ride that day I adopted it, took it with me, and its been with me on every journey I’ve ever been on since.

Teniendo en cuenta la elección siempre voy con Montana Black & Montana Gold.
Given the choice I would always go with Montana Black & Montana Gold.

What are you trying to say with your graffiti ?
Principalmente. Este soy yo, Este es mi nombre ( Brave 1) … Esto es lo que puedo hacer con los Sprays! ¡Yo estuve aquí! Además, como todo lo que puedo , me gusta promover los nombres de mis amigos y lo que importa como … . La unión hace la fuerza !
Mainly. This is ME, This is my name (Brave 1)…This is what I can do with Spraypaint! I Was Here! Also as much as I can I like to promote my friends names, and stuff that matters like….Unity is Strength!

Yeah tuve el placer de escuchar que quería presentar mis trabajos, después de mirar en el sitio, tuve claro que sería todo un lujo estar entre artistas increíblemente talentosos!
Yeah I was pleased to hear you wanted to feature my work, after looking at the site, I knew I would be a luxury to be among amazingly talented artists! !
¿Qué fue lo que te motivo para ser un escritor de graffiti?
What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?
Otros graffitis. Ver «OTROS GRAFFITIS» es lo que me hizó empezar a pintar, recuerdo haber visto graffitis en los últimos años de los 80 en la televisión y justo después hice mis primeros dibujos de graffitis en papel.
Poco después empecé a ver tags en la zona donde vivía. Pronto me obsesioné por estos garabatos. Tenía 11 años y no sabía de otra persona que sintiera lo mismo que yoal respecto!
Fuí bastante afortunado con 11 años porque me encontré con un «hall of fame», una fábrica abandonada donde pinté murales de graffiti. Se encontraba a poca distancia de mi casa, así que solía ir sólo allí para pasar el rato, me gustaban ver las paredes pintadas y quería poder participar.
Cuando me gradué de la Escuela Secundaria (12 años) ví un libro llamado»subway-art» en la biblioteca, y más tarde compré el libro «Spraycan Art» después me enganché con seguridad!
Other Graffiti. Seeing «OTHER GRAFFITI» is what got me started doing Graffiti, I remember seeing graffiti in the late 80’s on T.V. and straight after that I did my first graffiti drawings on paper.
Soon after that I started noticing tags going up in the area I lived.
I soon became obsessed by these scrawls.
I was 11 and didn’t know anyone else that felt the same about it as me!
I was pretty fortunate cos at 11yrs old I found a hall of fame, a derelict factory where people painted graffiti murals.
It was within walking distance of my house, so I used to go down there just to hang out, I’d look at the painted walls and wish I could get involved.
When I graduated to Secondary School (age 12) I saw the book «subway-art» in the library, then later I bought the book «Spraycan Art» after that I was hooked for sure!
¿Cuál es el estilo que usas?
What is the style you use?
Mi estilo es diverso , es mi fuerza , tengo la habilidad de pintar en muchos estilos diferentes. Lo mantengo interesante. Uso muchos personajes. Muchos son míos pero también utilizo una gran cantidad de referencias de la cultura popular de los comics, libros, revistas y películas. Creo que la gente me conoce a mi y a mi trabajo debido a los personajes. Mis letras pasan por diferentes evoluciones de estilos , realmente he estado en las curvas en los últimos tiempos.
My Style is Diverse, that is my strength, I have the ability to paint in many different styles & I do. It keeps it interesting. I use characters a lot. Many are my own but I also use a lot of reference from popular culture comic books magazines & film. I think people know me & my work because of the characters. My Letters go through different evolutions of style, I’ve really been into curves lately.

Me gusta verlo, siempre y cuando el escritor se haya esforzado. Mientras este bien elaborado y diseñado y si tiene un mensaje ¡ es incluso mejor ! creo que si tienes la oportunidad de pintar un tren tienes que hacer que se vea tan bien como puedas !
I like seeing it, as long as the writer has made some kind of effort.
As long as it’s well crafted and designed , if it has a message, that’s even better! I think if you get the chance to paint a train make it look as good as you can!

Vivo en Essex, que es el Este de Londres , hay una gran cantidad de graffiti aquí y en Londres. Demasiado para hablar realmente. Dire que hay muchos artistas de graffiti y un montón de los viejos que están regresando !
I live in Essex which is East of London, there is a lot of Graffiti here & in London. Too much to talk about really. I’ll just say…..There are a lot more graffiti artists than there ever used to be! & a lot of the old ones are coming back!

Something that you want to say before finishing with the interview?
Creo que el arte es una terapia , los artistas tienen la necesidad de crear más de lo que la gente necesita ver.
Creo que la escena del arte , la industria del arte es ridículo.
Creo que ser un artista de éxito es algo que sólo el individuo puede medir. Creo que los artistas famosos o exitosos a menudo no son los mejores .
I think art is therapy, artists need to create more than people need to see artists creations .
I think the art scene, the art industry is ridiculous.
I think being a successful artist is something only the individual can measure. I think famous celibrated or successful artists are often not the best ones.
