¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
No tiene una razón en realidad, un día decidí cambiar mi apodo y buscar nuevas letras, mi aka anterior era Close, no existe una historia particular sobre la razón del nombre, quizás es más interesante el hecho de que yo cambie mi nombre de graffiti el mismo día que Saner que en paz descanse, el antes pintaba Nano y un día conversando queríamos cambiar los nombres y yo elegí Senk, me gustaba la K para terminar y eligió San por su nombre Santiago, si no me equivoco el primer muro que pintamos con los nuevo nombres pusimos Sank y Senk con un carácter de Calvin en medio.
It doesn’t really have a reason, one day I decided to change my nickname and look for new letters, my previous aka was Close, there is no particular story about the reason for the name, maybe it’s more interesting the fact that I changed my graffiti name the same day as Saner, may he rest in peace, he used to paint Nano and one day talking we wanted to change the names and I chose Senk, I liked the K to finish and he chose San because of his name Santiago, if I’m not mistaken the first wall we painted with the new names we put Sank and Senk with a Calvin character in the middle.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Siempre me gusto dibujar, desde muy pequeño, por mucho tiempo fui muy aficionado a los Comic y después descubrí el skate y con el skate inicie a conocer a muchos escritores de Graffiti que lo practicaban, también estudiar en la escuela de Artes donde conocí otros más, entonces fue cuestión de tiempo de que yo también me aficionara a hacer graffiti, esto en el 2001, pero mi primera pieza o algo realmente elaborado o más concreto que tags con marcador lo hice en el 2002.
I always liked to draw, from a very young age, for a long time I was very fond of Comic books and then I discovered skateboarding and with skateboarding I started to meet many Graffiti writers who practiced it, also studying at the School of Arts where I met others, then it was a matter of time that I also became fond of doing graffiti, this in 2001, but my first piece or something really elaborate or more concrete than tags with marker I did it in 2002.

What is your style?
No sabría definirlo, creo que soy un escritor que le gusta hacer de todo un poco, creo que un rasgo particular mío es que me gusta mucho acompañar las letras de personajes, me gusta mucho hacerlos y el valor que aporta a una buena pieza, ahora sobre mis letras depende del mood y de la ubicación de las letras, generalmente si pinto muros tranquilos, me gustan hacer piezas con un sabor más clásico, letras con conexiones, burbujas, flechas, quiero que las letras tengan buenas estructuras apunto a eso, si tengo que pintar otro tipo de spot donde lo importante es la ubicación prefiero algo que sea más legible, que se entienda fácil al pasar, creo que aprecio mucho el estilo clásico pero intento ponerle algunos toques más modernos por llamarlo de alguna forma, algunos efectos acá y allá, me tomo algunas libertades.
I wouldn’t know how to define it, I think I’m a writer who likes to do a bit of everything, I think a particular trait of mine is that I really like to accompany the letters with characters, I really like to make them and the value it brings to a good piece, now about my letters it depends on the mood and the location of the letters, generally if I paint quiet walls, I like to make pieces with a more classic flavour, If I have to paint another type of spot where the important thing is the location I prefer something that is more legible, that is easy to understand when passing, I think I appreciate the classic style but I try to put some more modern touches to it, some effects here and there, I take some liberties.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Si, en realidad no fue una pieza fue un carácter, pero fue la primera vez que recuerdo ir con más de dos colores, un boceto y que pase un par de horas delante de un muro, todo lo que había hecho antes eran bombas y tags, lo hice en el 2002 en un estacionamiento al lado de un edificio abandonado en la Av Panteon en Caracas, fui con Saner en ese periodo aun pintaba Nano y el también hizo su primera pieza esa día, aunque él ya había tenía mucha más experiencia que yo pintando calle, ese día fuimos a hacernos nuestras primeras piezas.
Yes, it wasn’t really a piece, it was a character, but it was the first time I remember going with more than two colours, a sketch and spending a couple of hours in front of a wall, all I had done before were bombs and tags, I did it in 2002 in a car park next to an abandoned building on Av Panteon in Caracas, I went with Saner at that time Nano was still painting and he also did his first piece that day, although he already had much more experience than me in street painting, that day we went to do our first pieces.
