Why is your tag Chips?
Mi nombre Chips es bastante reciente, y se remonta a hace unos 10 u 11 años, cuando terminé viviendo aquí en Londres. Estaba buscando algo diferente, fácil de recordar para la gente y, lo más importante, que fueran letras apetecibles para mí, así que por qué no Chips. También he tenido muchos otros nombres en en épocas pasadas, básicamente, en cada lugar donde he vivido he tenido una firma diferente.
My name Chips is quite recent, and it goes back about 10-11 years ago, to when I ended up living here in London. I was looking for something different, easy to remind people and most importantly, palatable letters to me, so why not Chips I’ve also had so many other names in the past, basically, in every place where I’ve lived I’ve had a different tag.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?
What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?
Vengo de un pequeño pueblo perdido en Cerdeña, el hermano de un amigo estudió la universidad en Milán, y cuando regresó al país donde yo vivía, se llevó muchas fotos y bocetos de los graffitis que vio en las calles de Milán. Éramos realmente muy jóvenes, e inmediatamente nos volvimos locos por ello, nos atrajeron los graffitis de cualquier forma, y nos atrajo hacerlo con algo tan genial como un spryacan. Fue alrededor de los años 94-95 el graffiti, breakdance, la música rap era algo que estaba invadiendo las calles de toda Europa. Así que llegué a tener las primeras revistas italianas de graffiti, y me dejó alucinado. El spray se convirtió en parte de mí. Pasé toda mi infancia dibujando, haciendo bocetos y jugando con la pintura.
I come from a really small village lost in Sardinia,the brother of a friend studied university in Milan, and when he returned to the country where I lived, he took with him many photos and sketches of the graffiti he saw in the streets of Milan. We were really very young, and immediately we went crazy for it, we were attracted by graffiti in any form and shape,and we were attracted by doing it with something as cool as a spryacan. It was around 94-95 l graffiti,breakdance, rap music were something that were invading the streets all over Europe. So I came to have the first italian graffiti magazines,an it blow my mind . Spray became part of me.i spent all my childhood drawing,sketching and playing with paint
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Principalmente pinto wild style, inspirados inicialmente por los pioneros de la vieja escuela como Phase 2 que tuve la oportunidad de conocer. Hoy en día me inspiro un poco en todo lo que me rodea, la naturaleza, la publicidad, la gente, decimos un poco de todo y luego lo reflejo en mis piezas. Para mí la pintura es algo íntimo y personal, básicamente dejo una parte de mí y mi estado de ánimo en cada pieza.
I mainly paint wildstyles, inspired initially by oldschool pioneers like Phase 2 that I had the opportunity to meet. Today I am inspired a little by everything around me, nature, advertising, people, we say a little bit from everything and then I reflect it in my pieces. For me paint is an intimate and personal thing,basically I leave a part of me and my mood in every piece.

Creo que es una gran cosa, cada oportunidad cuenta. Realmente creo que se necesitarían más sitios web, blogs y gente que pueda dar a conocer, documentar y catalogar lo que se está haciendo ahí fuera. Es crear más enlaces y conexiones. La pintura no se queda para siempre. Es correcto dejar que las generaciones futuras sepan o a quién le importa quiénes somos y lo que hacemos y te doy las gracias por ello.
I think it’s a great thing,every opportunity counts. I really think it would take more websites, blogs, and people who can make known, document and catalog what’s being done out there.It s create more links and connections. the paint doesn’t stay forever.It’s right to let future generations know or who cares who we are and what we do and I thank you for that.

Creo que todavía hay un contorno descolorido de una pieza hecha con mis mejores amigos. Todavía recuerdo dos o tres latas, un calor abrasador de verano, pintamos una letra cada uno.
Obviamente las expectativas eran mucho más altas que nuestras posibilidades. No me atrevería a mostrártelo. AHAHAHAHAH.
I think there ‘s still a faded outline of a piece made with my best mates.I still remember two or three cans, a scorching summer heat,we paint one letter each.
Obviously the expectation were too much higher than our possibilities. I wouldn’t dare to show it to you. AHAHAHAHAH.

What is your crew?
Cdsk ha sido mi única crew durante tanto tiempo. Londres me ha permitido conocer a mucha más gente y ha abierto muchas otras vías. Hasta el día de hoy formo parte de un par de colectivos con artistas internacionales, todos únicos y diferentes entre sí en su propio tiempo. SMO-HAM-A51-DCM-DVK-CDSK
cdsk has been my only crew for so long. London has allowed me to meet many more people and opened many other avenues. to this day I am part of a couple of collectives with international artists, all unique and different from each other at their own time. SMO-HAM-A51-DCM-DVK-CDSK

Me gustaría decir una sola cosa a la gente de ahí fuera, sean humildes, nunca dejen de perseguir sus sueños, porque la vida es una sola y debe ser vivida hasta el final.
