¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Pues sinceramente, no sabría decirte, en mis inicios puse varios nombres, algunos los cambiaba porque no me terminaban de gustar y otros porque eran muy parecidos al de otros escritores. Definitivamente comencé a escribir DANT, un día firmando con las prisas salió una T tan torcida y regulera que parecía una E, y finalmente empecé a poner DANE hasta el día de hoy.
Well, honestly, I couldn’t tell you, in my beginnings I wrote several names, some I changed them because I didn’t like them and others because they were very similar to other writers’ names. I definitely started to write DANT, one day when I was tagging in a hurry a T came out, so crooked and awkward that it looked like an E, and finally I started to write DANE until today.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Desde que era pequeño, me gustaba mucho dibujar y pintar. En mi entorno, he crecido rodeado de escritores de graffiti amigos de mi hermano mayor y flipaba con lo que hacían y me empecé a interesar y a flipar en ver como pintaban las letras y muñecos, yo quería ver mi nombre escrito en la calle también, todo sumado a que en el colegio me junté con amigos que ya habían empezado a pintar empecé a firmar y al tiempo a hacer piezas. Que buenos tiempos.
Since I was little, I really liked to draw and paint. In my environment, I grew up surrounded by graffiti writers friends of my older brother and I was amazed with what they did and I started to be interested and freaked out to see how they painted the letters and dolls, I wanted to see my name written on the street too, all added to the fact that at school I got together with friends who had already started to paint, I began to tag and eventually to make pieces. What good times.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Pues me encanta el wild style. Con el tiempo y supongo que dependiendo de la época y del momento me gusta hacer piezas mas sencillas, pero me encantan las conexiones, palos y flechas.
Well, I love the wild style. Over time and I guess depending on the time and the moment I like to make simpler pieces, but I love the connections, sticks and arrows.

La verdad que me ha hecho ilusión la entrevista poder formar parte del archivo de escritores de todo el mundo que estas haciendo, enhorabuena por la iniciativa.
The truth is that I was very excited about the interview to be part of the archive of writers from around the world that you are doing, congratulations for the initiative.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Sinceramente, me acuerdo perfectamente de mi primera pieza a color con mas de 2 botes, pieza a naranjas, trazo negro y fondo azul. Anteriormente eran piezas a un color casi siempre plata u oro (estaban en las estanterías de debajo de droguerías rubio) o incluso solo el contorno de la pieza.
La verdad que no teníamos cámara de fotos, y muy de tarde en tarde podíamos revelar de las que pillábamos de usar y tirar y hay muchas piezas y momentos de esa época que no tengo fotos, pero sin duda los recuerdo con muchísimo cariño y ganas. A parte de ser un fotógrafo de mierda y que siempre sacaba unas fotos como el ojete.
Honestly, I remember perfectly well my first color piece with more than 2 pots, orange piece, black line and blue background. Previously they were pieces in one color, almost always silver or gold (they were on the shelves underneath the blond drugstores) or even just the outline of the piece.
The truth is that we didn’t have a camera, and only from time to time we were able to develop the ones we could find and there are many pieces and moments of that time that I don’t have pictures of, but without a doubt I remember them with great affection and desire. Apart from being a shitty photographer and that always took pictures like the asshole.
