¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Mi apodo viene del numero (2) en Frances pero con una “W”. Viene para el jugar con el “One” para que juntos formen el numero “21” que mi numero favorite. La verdad inicialmente quería utilizar “Spear Dewx” siguiendo los pasos de mi primo “Spear” pero finalmente deje “Dewx” y añadí el “one”… “DewxOne”.
My nickname comes from the number (2) in French but with a “W”. It comes from playing with the “One” so that together they form the number “21” which is my favorite number. Actually I initially wanted to use “Spear Dewx” following in the footsteps of my cousin “Spear” but finally I dropped “Dewx” and added the “one”… “DewxOne”.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Mi motivación inicial fue mi primo, había comenzado a pintar unos 4 años antes y los veranos venia a PR y pintaba, ahi fue que vi por primera vez el Graffiti. Vivía en Carolina por lo que empece a notar las artes en las paredes, así que mi mama me compró un “blackbook” y comencé a pintar mis letras, practicando practicando hasta que me dieron la oportunidad de pintar.
My initial motivation was my cousin, he had started painting about 4 years before and every summer he would come to PR and paint, that’s when I saw Graffiti for the first time. I lived in Carolina so I started to notice the art on the walls, so my mom bought me a “blackbook” and I started painting my letters, practicing and practicing until they gave me the opportunity to paint.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Mi estilo para mí es fresco, limpio e innovador… influenciado más por el estilo de NY, siempre q era lo q llegaba acá en revistas y todo lo q veía en la isla como Ske (RIP) Rek, Bex, Ekc, Prisco, entre otros… siempre tratando de dar lo máximo a la hora de pintar. Siempre en busca de hacer mi mejor pieza. Me encantan las letra y en eso me he enfocado hasta que logre dominar y desarrollar mi propio estilo. Siempre jugando con la composición, el ángulo, las perspectivas, para elevar la forma y estilo de la pieza.
My style for me is fresh, clean and innovative… influenced more by the NY style, always what was coming here in magazines and everything I saw on the island as Ske (RIP) Rek, Bex, Ekc, Prisco, among others… always trying to give the maximum when painting. Always looking to make my best piece. I love the letters and that’s what I have focused on until I managed to master and develop my own style. Always playing with the composition, the angle, the perspectives, to elevate the form and style of the piece.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
La recuerdo como si fuera hoy, verano del 1998, mi 1era pieza fue un copiete terrible. Eran la D y la E de una pieza del gran Dero de NY. Y la W y la X eran un handstyle flow tag, porque no había espacio las otras 2 en el espacio q escogí. Fue en mi patio, en la Casa de muñecas de mi hermana, mi Vieja no sabía, y lo hice con potes de spray q tenía el viejo de hacer cosas en la casa. No tenia idea de lo q hacia, solo lo quería hacer.
I remember it as if it were today, summer of 1998, my first piece was a terrible copy. They were the D and E of a piece of the great Dero from NY. And the W and X were a handstyle flow tag, because there was no room for the other 2 in the space I chose. It was in my backyard, in my sister’s dollhouse, my old lady didn’t know, and I did it with spray cans that the old man had from doing things around the house. I had no idea what I was doing, I just wanted to do it.

Aprovecho para agradecer primero a mi madre, q es mi fan numero 1, segundo a mi esposa, que es mi fan numero 2, a mi familia y los míos, a todos los grafiteros q he conocido, a los crews q he formado parte y a todos los colegas q hoy en día eh tenido la oportunidad de conocer. A todos los que llevo de corazón, ustedes saben quienes son.
