¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
No tiene un significado como tal, solo un día estaba boceteando con diferentes letras y diferentes palabras, hasta que llegue a las letras que forman mi tag DTEK y me gusto como sonaba y por eso decidí quedarme con ese seudónimo.
It has no meaning as such, just one day I was sketching with different letters and different words, until I came to the letters that form my tag DTEK and I liked how it sounded and that’s why I decided to keep that pseudonym.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Llegar a la ciudad de Morelia que es en la que actualmente resido desde los 8 años de edad, nací en La Huacana, Michoacán, ahí no hay nada de graffiti y no lo conocía hasta que me mude a la ciudad de Morelia fue cuando lo conocí, recuerdo que quede impactado al entrar a la ciudad con los tags y bombas que veía en las paredes, no sabia que eran ni que significaban pero me encantaron y despertaron mi interés para entrar al mundo del graffiti.
I was born in La Huacana, Michoacán, there is no graffiti there and I didn’t know about it until I moved to the city of Morelia, I remember that I was shocked when I entered the city with the tags and bombs I saw on the walls, I didn’t know what they were or what they meant but I loved them and they awakened my interest to enter the world of graffiti.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Lo que mas disfruto pintar son wild style y por lo tanto es lo que mas pinto, así que diría que mi estilo es wild style, mi wild style lo definiría como una mezcla entre lo old school y las nuevas tendencias actuales del graffiti, es decir estoy muy influenciado por los estilos clásicos, pero también de las nuevas formas y tendencias que surgen del graffiti.
What I most enjoy painting is wild style and therefore is what I paint the most, so I would say that my style is wild style, my wild style I would define it as a mix between old school and the new current trends of graffiti, that is to say I am very influenced by the classic styles, but also of the new forms and trends that arise from graffiti.

Me encanta la idea, es una pagina de graffiti que respeto y por lo tanto estoy muy contento que haya una sección sobre mi trabajo en la pagina, muchas gracias por la oportunidad.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Si claro fue con mi primer crew el MAW, recuerdo que tenia mas o menos 15 años de edad, entonces calculo que tuvo que ser alrededor del 2005, hice unas letras muy sencillas de DTEK, se me chorreaba mucho el aerosol tenía cero control y no sabía utilizar los caps pero aun así fue muy divertido y me encanto hacerlo, desde ahí quise seguir pintando cada vez con mayor constancia y haciendo piezas mas elaboradas hasta llegar hacer wildstyle, después al entrar a la universidad me di una pausa con el graffiti y deje de practicarlo alrededor de dos años y ahí me di cuenta de lo mal que la pasaba si no pintaba, entonces decidí retomarlo poco a poco de menos a mas hasta llegar a la constancia en la que estoy actualmente donde intento pintar lo mas seguido que se pueda, desde hace 3 años me encuentro en esta postura, estoy pintando alrededor de dos veces al mes y quiero que esa constancia aumente a pintar mínimo una vez a la semana, aunque a veces se me complica por el trabajo, ya que no me dedico al 100% al muralismo, mi principal fuente de ingresos es mi sueldo como profesor de secundaria.
Yes of course it was with my first crew the MAW, I remember I was more or less 15 years old, so I guess it had to be around 2005, I did some very simple letters of DTEK, I had zero control and I didn’t know how to use the caps but it was still fun and I loved doing it, from there I wanted to continue painting more and more consistently and making more elaborate pieces until I made wildstyle, then when I entered the university I took a break with graffiti and stopped practicing it for about two years and then I realized how bad it was if I didn’t paint, then I decided to take it up again little by little from less to more until I reached the constancy in which I am currently where I try to paint as often as possible, since 3 years ago I am in this position, I am painting about twice a month and I want that constancy to increase to paint at least once a week, although sometimes it is complicated by the work, since I do not dedicate 100% to the muralism, my main source of income is my salary as a high school teacher.
