¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonyme come from?
Estuve buscando un nombre durante unos meses cuando empecé a escribir, entonces decidi vincular mis nombres con mis amigos, uno terminaba con una E y el otro empezaba con una Y, así que lo vinculé con M y O, dos letras que aprecio por su flow, así que se me ocurrió Emoy… Primero fue más una coincidencia que otra cosa, pero rápidamente la gente me llamó Moy’, se había vuelto obvio.
I was searching a name for few months when i started writing, then we decided to link our names with my friends, one finished with an E and the other started with an Y, so i linked it with M and O, two letters i appreciate for their Flow, so i came up with Emoy…First it was more a coincidence than anything else, but quickly people called me Moy’, it had become obvious.

What motivated you to get started painting?
En la clase de dibujo, estaba el libro de subwayart y arte del spray en la biblioteca, aluciné, así que con mis amigos decidimos pillar el tren para verlo todo con nuestros propios ojos. Me quedé impresionado por los estilos de los viejos tiempos de la línea, el BFK, CTK, 93MC ya estaban en todas partes, nos subimos a ellos sin moderación.
In drawing class, there was subway art and spraycan art in the library, I hallucinated, so with my friends we decided to take the train to see it all with our own eyes. I was blown away by the styles of the old timers of the line, the BFK, CTK, 93MC were already everywhere, we jumped into them without moderation.

What do you try to say with your artworks?
El estilo es el mensaje, lo sabes pero en realidad depende, la mayoría de las veces escribo mi nombre, porque me gusta este ejercicio y de ahí es de donde venimos, dar sentimientos a la gente, es la esencia misma del graffiti en el sentido hip hop del término, la competencia positiva, poner una bofetada visual y recibir una a cambio, apoyar el estilo aún más lejos. También están las paredes de mensajes, que van desde divertirse y entretenerse hasta reclamar una causa o al menos el deseo de hacer pensar al espectador.
Style is the message, you know that but Actually it depends, most often I write my name, because I like this exercise and that is where we come from, giving feelings to people, it is the very essence of graffiti in the hip hop sense of the term, the positive competition, putting a visual slap and receive one in return, push style even further. Then there are the message walls too, it goes from having fun and entertain until to claim for a cause or at least the desire to make the viewer think.

What is your style?
Espero que el mío sea sencillo… después, la gente le da nombres como «vieja escuela, tradicional, wild style, 3d»… Sólo quiero dar mi visión, mi versión, mi interpretación de las letras, los personajes, la pintura en aerosol. Trato de no atascarme en un estilo, porque soy curioso, me gusta aprender, descubrir para asombrarme y sorprenderme. Es una regla, no planear demasiado un muro con mis amigos, le da ese lado improbable y orgánico que me gusta, la improvisación es buena aunque a veces sea un gran problema.
I hope mine quite simply … afterwards, people give it names like “old school, traditional, wild style, 3d”… I just want to give my vision, my version, my interpretation of the letters, characters, spray paint. I try not to get stuck on a style, because I am curious, I like to learn, to discover to amaze myself and to be surprised. It’s a rule, not to plan a wall too much with my friends, it gives it that improbable and organic side that I like, improvising is good even if sometimes it’s a big deal.

Es la oportunidad de llegar a personas de diferentes horizontes, de hacerlas viajar visualmente, de transmitirles el amor a las letras, de que descubran nuestros universos y tal vez de darles el deseo de empezar a pintar.
It is the opportunity to reach people from different horizons, to make them travel visually, to transmit to them the love of letters, that they discover our universes and maybe give them the desire to start painting.

1989, Cerca de la estación de Sarcelles en las vías del tren, yo tenía 14 años, por la noche, éramos tres, todos con boquillas originales de sprays para coches stollen de la ferretería del barrio, contorno naranja cromado, con efectos de burbujas rojas, verdes y púrpuras, nos pareció genial en el momento, la sorpresa fue el resultado al día siguiente a plena luz del día …
1989, Near Sarcelles station on the railroad tracks, I was 14 years old, at night, there were three of us, all with original caps of cans for cars stollen from the local hardware shop, chrome orange outline, with red, green and purple bubble effects, we thought it was great on the moment, the surprise was the result the next day in broad daylight …
