Why is your tag Fake?
Decidí escribir FAKE por las letras y también por el significado. En el movimiento del graffiti, todo el mundo dice ser real. Me los follo a todos, incluso si soy real, escribo Fake.
I decided to write FAKE because of the letters and also because of the signification. In the graffiti movement, everybody claims to be real. I fuck them all, even if I am real, I write Fake.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?
What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?
Empecé a pintar en las paredes muy joven. Cuando era niño, fui al baño con un lápiz para escribir en la puerta. Mi padre era tipógrafo de impresión y, naturalmente, me transmitió este interés por las letras y la creatividad. Pero, sobre todo, es la idea de estar fuera de la ley y la adrenalina que me hizo amar el graffiti. Fue genial crear un equipo y necesitaba esta energía grupal.
I started to write on the walls very young. When I was a child, I went to the bathroom with a pencil to write on the door. My father was a typesetter in printing and he naturally transmitted this interest in letters and creativity to me. But above all it’s the idea of being outlaw and the adrenaline rush that made me love graffiti. It was cool to moved in team and I needed this emulation—this group energy.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Soy un tipo impaciente, así que pinto rápidamente, a menudo sin ningún boceto, soy muy prolífico. Empecé a mediados de los 90 y hacia letras muy complicadas con muchas flechas y mi graffiti era muy limpio. Ahora, es diferente. No me importa el color, no hago 3D ni sombras. A veces ni siquiera contornos … Mi estilo podría definirse por «menos es más».
I am an impatient guy, so I paint quickly, often without any sketch—I am very prolific. I started in the mid ’90s and I was doing very complicated letters with lots of arrows and my graffiti was very clean. Now, it’s different. I don’t care about color, I don’t do 3D, and no shadows. Sometimes not even contours… My style could be defined by « less is more ».

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Recuerdo la primera pieza que hice, tal vez fue en 1992. Pinté con un amigo mío por la noche cerca de mi universidad. Quería que todos los estudiantes lo vieran. Era una pieza blanca con un contorno azul turquesa. En ese momento yo escribí HONER. Recuerdo que llegó un coche, así que saltamos a los arbustos y esperamos durante mucho tiempo. Estábamos muy asustados. jaja
Finalmente terminamos el trabajo y lo vi al día siguiente cuando fui al colegio. No es la historia más emocionante, pero es mía.
I remember the first piece I did, maybe it was in 1992. I painted with a friend of mine at night near of my college. I wanted that every student see it. It was a white piece with a turquoise blue contour. At that time i writed HONER. I remember that a car came so we jumped in the bushes and waited for a long time. We were very scared. LOL
We finally finished my piece and i saw it the day after when i went to school. It’s not the most exciting story but it’s mine.

Where would you like to paint?
Ahora intento pintar cada vez que viajo, incluso si es una pompa. Así que ya pinté en Atenas, Amsterdam, Bruselas, Nueva York, Los Ángeles, Budapest, Lisboa, Barcelona, Roma, Montreal y Tokio … Desearía visitar pronto y pintar con mi amigo Doez en Buenos Aires.
I now try to paint whenever I travel even if it’s a quick throwup. So I have already painted in Athens, Amsterdam, Brussels, NYC, Los Angeles, Budapest, Lisbon, Barcelona, Roma, Montreal and Tokyo … I wish I’ll visit and paint with my friend Doez in Buenos Aires soon.

How do you imagine graffiti in the future (Year 2085)?

¿Cuál es tu crew?
What is your crew?
Tengo varias crews y cada una significa algo diferente para mí. Mi crew histórica es WODAS, la crew de Rotterdam creada por mi amigo Risk. Ya no hablo con muchos de ellos, pero todavía estoy en contacto con Risk, eso es lo más importante para mí. No me importan los demás. Luego soy parte de la crew ATR, que más que una crew es un grupo de amigos, incluso muchos chavales todavía pintan, otros no. Lo más importante es la amistad, creo que el graffiti es un pretexto … Y finalmente estoy en un equipo de Montreal (Canadá) con muchachos que no hacen ningún graffiti. El nombre es ΑΔΕΛΦΟΣ (adelfós), es la palabra griega para decir «hermano». Somos una crew, una familia, incluso si soy yo el único que pinto.
I have several crews and each one means something different for me. My historical crew is WODAS, Rotterdam based crew that was created by my friend Risk. I don’t talk anymore with many of them but I’m still closed to Risk, that’s the most important thing for me. I don’t care about the others. Then I’m part of ATR crew which is more a friends team than a graffiti crew, even if many guys still paint, some others don’t. The most important is friendship, I think graffiti is a pretext… And finally I’m in a crew from Montreal (Canada) with guys who don’t do graffiti at all. The name is ΑΔΕΛΦΟΣ (adelfós), it’s the greek word for « brother ». We are a team, a family, even if I’m the only one who paint.
