The Grafflibrary is an online database for graffiti publications, focused on magazines and books. The aim is to familiarize graffiti enthusiasts and collectors with all the publications out there and to make it possible to track your collection online.

Who is behind Grafflibrary.com?
Empecé a construir el sitio web hace 2 años y primero lo llené con mi propia colección (moderada) y las de mis amigos. Desde entonces, me he puesto en contacto con otros coleccionistas y editores de todo el mundo y les he permitido añadir y editar información en el sitio web. Aún quedan bastantes lagunas de información, pero con la gran ayuda de los demás, ¡cada día está más completa!.
I started building the website 2 years ago and first filled it with my own (moderate) collection and those of friends. Since then, I reached out to other collectors and publishers worldwide and made it possible for them to add and edit information on the website. There are still enough gaps to be filled with information, but with the great help of others, it becomes more complete every day!.

En enero de 2025, el número de revistas ascendía a 1039, con 4805 números individuales, y el de libros a 843. Los países con mayor número de revistas son Estados Unidos, Alemania e Italia. Me gustan los datos, así que también hay una panel principal con más estadísticas y visualización de los datos a tiempo real.
As of January 2025, the number of magazines stands at 1039, with 4805 individual issues, and the number of books is 843. Top countries for magazines are United States, Germany and Italy. I like data so there is also a dashboard page with more statistics and visualization of the data.

How did you come up with the idea of creating the website?
Con los años, me apasionó coleccionar una revista holandesa de graffiti llamada Bomber Magazine. Sin embargo, algunas de las primeras portadas anteriores al año 2000 son relativamente difíciles de encontrar, y yo no tenía ni idea de cómo eran algunas de ellas. Este es el caso de muchas revistas antiguas, lo que dificulta a los coleccionistas saber lo que están buscando. Aunque algunos sitios web antiguos proporcionaban información, sus listas eran poco atractivas y carecían de una visión de conjunto clara, más aún en el caso de los libros. Aquí es donde entra Grafflibrary.
Over the years, I developed a passion for collecting a specific Dutch graffiti magazine called Bomber Magazine. However, some of the early covers from before 2000 are relatively hard to find, and I had no idea what some of them looked like. This is the case for many old magazines, making it difficult for collectors to know what they are searching for. While some old websites provided information, their lists were unappealing and lacked a clear overview, even more so for books. This is where Grafflibrary comes in.

Creating a top 10 list is too difficult, especially considering all the books in the Grafflibrary. Instead, here is a list of books I own, enjoy, and would recommend to others, though I’m likely overlooking many more that deserve recognition:
- International Topsprayer™ by Moses and Taps, para mí un poco nostálgico porque fue mi primer libro de graffiti, pero un verdadero clásico a estas alturas. / For me slightly nostalgic because this was my first graffiti book, but a true classic by now.
- Repainting Subway Art by Triple a.k.a. Furious, publicado recientemente, es un homenaje al antiguo libro Subway Art. Esto, junto con la dedicatoria y la gran cantidad de texto, lo convierte en un gran libro. Además, el libro más reciente Spray Nation, de Martha Cooper, es un gran complemento del antiguo Subway Art. / Only recently published this is the homage to the old Subway Art book. This in combination with the dedication and lots of text makes it a great book. Also, the more recent Spray Nation book by Martha Cooper is a great addition to the old Subway Art book.
- The Art of Rage, lo tiene todo, vagones, estilo, historias, ambiente y un gran diseño de libro. / it has it all, panels, style, stories, atmosphere and a great book design.
- Disz, una historia real sobre el primer escritor de graffiti holandés que bombardeó Nueva York. Un saludo a los chicos de Dutch Graffiti Library. / True history about the first Dutch graffiti writer bombing New York City! Shout-out to the guys from Dutch Graffiti Library.
- Writers United, gran lectura y documentación del equipo WUFC, publicado por Dokument Press, que ha publicado muchos otros buenos libros. / Great read and documentation of WUFC crew, published by Dokument Press who published many more good books.
- Mens Du Sov, fotografía de primera, muchas fotos de ambiente de escritores de Copenhague, por desgracia todo el texto está en danés. / Top photography, lots of atmosphere shots from Copenhagen writers, unfortunately all text is in Danish.
- Si te gusta la fotografía, el ambiente y las fotos de acción, también te recomiendo los libros de Alex Fakso y el libro Above The Law de Phil America. / If you like photography, atmosphere and action shots, I would also recommend books by Alex Fakso and the book Above The Law by Phil America.
