¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
GSKA son las iniciales de algo que me marcó cuando era muy joven y recién comenzaba en este mundo, a partir de allí intentó sacar siempre lo mejor de las situaciones y entender mi pintura como una forma de superación constante con cada pieza y nuevo trabajo.
GSKA are the initials of something that marked me when I was very young and just starting in this world, from then on I always tried to make the best of the situations and to understand my painting as a way of constant improvement with each piece and new work.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Desde muy niño he estado interesado por el mundo de la pintura, me gusta dibujar desde que tengo uso de razón, de 13 años con el hip hop, la música, los videos y demás, comencé a interesarme por el graffiti y a aprender a estilizar las letras para darles un lenguaje propio que contarán quien era yo a través de formas, composiciones y colores.
Pienso que cada escritor expresa con su trabajo una parte muy íntima de su personalidad, allí la importancia de encontrar un estilo característico que hable por ti sin siquiera tener una firma.
Since I was a child I have been interested in the world of painting, I have liked to draw since I can remember, from 13 years old with hip hop, music, videos and so on, I started to get interested in graffiti and to learn how to stylize the letters to give them a language of my own that would tell who I was through shapes, compositions and colours.
I think that every writer expresses with his work a very intimate part of his personality, hence the importance of finding a characteristic style that speaks for you without even having a tag.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Descubrí una corriente llamada Graffuturism hace muchos años, desde allí con la carrera de arquitecto que estaba cursando en ese tiempo me hizo interesarme mucho más por ese mundo y esa estética. Me gustaba mucho descubrir cómo la gente seguía haciendo graffiti pero con una propuesta más geométrica y compositiva, así que comencé a crear composiciones tipográficas que si bien tuvieran esa esencia writer, también contarán experiencias visuales a través de la forma, el color, el lleno y el vacío y demás elementos compositivos.
Al día de hoy tengo más referencias de arte contemporáneo pictóricas y escultóricas que de cualquier otra corriente, me parece que la clave para nosotros los creativos es siempre estar aprendiendo de diferentes referencias. Nosotros somos muy visuales y en lo personal, me funciona bastante bien estar aprendiendo más del trabajo de otros que encerrarme a dibujar todos los días a la semana. Siento más nutritivo para mi, el ejercicio de ser curioso y estar indagando sobre diferentes corrientes y artistas. Así que: Gskafuturism. (Risas).
I discovered a trend called Graffuturism many years ago, from there with the degree in architecture that I was studying at the time made me much more interested in that world and that aesthetic. I really liked discovering how people were still doing graffiti but with a more geometric and compositional approach, so I started to create typographic compositions that, while having that writer essence, would also tell visual experiences through form, colour, full and empty and other compositional elements.
Today I have more references to contemporary pictorial and sculptural art than to any other current, it seems to me that the key for us creatives is to always be learning from different references. We are very visual and personally, it works quite well for me to be learning more from the work of others than to shut myself away to draw every day of the week. I feel it’s more nourishing for me to be curious and to be investigating different currents and artists. So: Gskafuturism. (laughs).

Me gusta mucho la idea de que mi trabajo esté circulando por varias páginas, es una de las cosas más importantes que tiene el internet y es que nos permite conocer del trabajo de otros artistas al alcance de un click sin la necesidad de estar al otro lado del continente. Hay mucha gente que puede gustar de tu trabajo así que estas plataformas son de mucha ayuda para nosotros que nos movemos en este mundo.
I really like the idea that my work is circulating on various pages, it’s one of the most important things about the internet and that is that it allows us to get to know the work of other artists at the click of a button without the need to be on the other side of the continent. There are a lot of people who might like your work, so these platforms are very helpful for us who move in this world.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Creo que de todas las piezas, esa es la que nadie olvidaría (Risas) Tenía unos 14 años y fue en el colegio donde estudiaba en ese tiempo, me siento muy agradecido por ese día porque fue el principio de un viaje que espero no acabe nunca. Lo más importante acá es ser paciente y disfrutar el camino, pase al menos unos 2 años para que me gustara una de mis piezas pero ese tipo de emociones solo llegan para quienes se mantienen.
I think that of all the pieces, that’s the one that no one would forget (laughs) I was about 14 years old and it was at the school where I was studying at the time, I feel very grateful for that day because it was the beginning of a journey that I hope will never end. The most important thing here is to be patient and enjoy the journey, it took at least 2 years for me to like one of my pieces but those kind of emotions only come to those who keep going.

What is your crew?
Actualmente hago parte de un colectivo de artistas llamado Neo Gravitys. Somos artistas de diferentes partes del mundo interesados un poco más en hacer obra de estudio. Todos son bastante talentosos, la verdad es que he podido aprender mucho de cada uno de ellos y me siento orgulloso de hacer parte de este grupo. Cuando comienzas en esto nunca piensas que puedes terminar con un grupo de gente tan profesional.
Podría decir que algunos de mis artistas favoritos en el mundo, son mis colegas de colectivo (Risas)
I am currently part of an artist collective called Neo Gravitys. We are artists from different parts of the world who are a bit more interested in making studio work. They are all very talented, I have been able to learn a lot from each of them and I feel proud to be part of this group. When you start out you never think you can end up with such a professional group of people.
I could say that some of my favourite artists in the world are my friends in the collective (laughs).
