¿Qué te motivó para empezar con la web «I Support Street Art»?
What motivated you to get started doing this site called «I Support Street Art»?
Bueno, al principio todo era circunstancial… a principios de la década de 2000 me encontré haciendo fotos de obras de arte callejero que encontraba en mis viajes por varias ciudades de Europa y Sudamérica. Fue entonces cuando pensé que más gente debería ver estas obras de arte callejero. Facebook estaba en alza entonces y una página con las imágenes que había recogido parecía una forma fácil de compartirlas y comenzar algo nuevo que era muy visualmente interesante y creativo. Entonces empecé a investigar más acerca de quiénes eran estos artistas, dónde y qué otras obras tenían. El efecto de bola de nieve tomó el control y me encontré llegando a una comunidad online de jóvenes que estaban muy entusiasmados por compartir y crear. En unos pocos años la página llegó a más de 100k seguidores y el siguiente paso fue hacer un hogar para esta comunidad que no pertenecía a Zuckenberg. La página web nació, se diseñó y se llenó de contenido de arte callejero. Hoy en día tenemos un equipo dirigiendo la página web y una fuerte presencia en Instagram también. No se puede escapar de Zuckenberg fácilmente!
La página web es nuestro hogar y el foco principal ya que nos pertenece y está llena de montones y montones de contenido relacionado con el arte callejero. Entrevistas, galerías de artistas, enlaces, calendario de eventos, libros, vídeos y publicaciones diarias con obras de arte que recibimos directamente de artistas de todo el mundo.
Well it was all circumstancial at first… back in the early 2000s I found myself taking pictures of street art works I would encounter in my travels around several cities in Europe and South America. That is when I thought that more people should see these street art works. Facebook was on the rise then and a page with the images I had collected seemed like an easy way to share them and start something new which was very visualy interesting and creative. Then I started to investigate more about who these artists where and what other works they had. The snowball effect took over and I found myself reaching an online community of young people who were very excited to share and create. In a few years the page reached more 100k followers and the next step was to make a home for this community that did not belong to Zuckenberg. The website was born, designed and filled with street art content. Nowadays we have a team running the website and a strong presence on Instagram too. Cant get away from Zuckenberg easily!
The website is our home and main focus since it belongs to us and it is filled with lots and lots of Street Art related content. Interviews, Artist Galleries, Links, Events Calendar, Books, Videos and daily fresh posts with art works that we receive directly from artists around the world.

What do you try to say with your site?
En nuestra página web no elegimos a los mejores o a los más famosos. Es una plataforma donde todos pueden ser vistos sin ser juzgados o señalados. Es un gran lugar para que los nuevos artistas con talento empiecen a mostrar sus obras de arte.
En nuestro sitio web entregamos a una amplia audiencia internacional el ritmo de la realidad actual del arte callejero tal y como es ahora en todo el mundo.
Nuestro principal objetivo es apoyar a los artistas. Una manera es mostrando su trabajo. Otras formas de apoyarlos incluyen, Llamadas de Artistas que todos los artistas pueden encontrar un nuevo proyecto o evento al que asistir para su beneficio. Cualquier artista puede hacer su propio perfil completo con imágenes, enlaces y una breve biografía.
Todo el contenido que mostramos nos lo trae la comunidad de artistas y lo que hacemos con él vuelve a su beneficio de una manera u otra. De esta manera apoyamos el arte callejero y a los artistas.
In our website we do not choose the best or the most famous. It is a platform where everyone can be seen without being judged or sencored. It is great place for new artists with talent to start showing their art works.
In our website we deliver to a wide international audience the tempo of the current street art reality as it is now accross the globe.
Our main goal is to support the artists. One way is by showing their work. Other ways we support them include, Artist Calls that all artists can find a new project or event to attend to for their benefit. Any artist can make his or her own full profile with images, links and a short bio.
All the content we show is brought to us by the artist community and what we do with it returns to their benefit in one way or another. In this way we support street art and the artists.

Bueno, ha pasado un tiempo… Puedo recordar una sensación de emoción, la sensación de que el contenido que eliges y publicas será visto por una gran audiencia me trajo un sentido de responsabilidad y entusiasmo. Para que la gente vuelva a ver tu contenido tienes que asegurarte de que está bien escogido y bien presentado.
La credibilidad es algo que se construye duro con el tiempo pero que puede perderse en un día para siempre.
Well its been a while… I can remember a sense of excitement, the feeling that the content you choose and publish will be seen by a large audience brought me a sense of responsibility and enthusiasm. In order to get people returning to see your content you have to make sure its well picked and well presented.
Credibility is something you build hard in time but can loose in a day for good.
¿Qué piensas del graffiti y street art y murales en tu pais?
What do you think about graffiti and street art, murals in your country?
Grecia tiene una fuerte subcultura del graffiti en ciertas ciudades y sobre todo en Atenas y Salónica.
La escena de arte callejero también ha crecido en los últimos años en el país con muchos jóvenes talentos emergentes. Siempre estoy feliz de apoyarlos como con cualquier artista que conozco.
El beneficio en Grecia es que no hay una policía muy fuerte en lo que respecta a la pintura pública…
Sólo los medios de comunicación juegan con el significado de la misma y aún no han decidido dónde se detiene el vandalismo y comienza la intervención artística.
Greece has a heavy graffiti sub culture in certain cities and mostly Athens and Thessaloniki.
The street art scene has also boombed in the last few years in the country with many young talents emerging. I am always happy to support them just like with any artist I meet.
The benefit in Greece is that there isnt a very strong policing regarding public painting…
Its only the media that plays around with the meaning of it is and they still havent decided where vandalism stops and artistic intervention begins.
