¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Como la mayoría de nosotros, cuando era joven quemé la mayoría de los nombres de escritores clásicos experimentando con todo tipo de letras en un intento de encontrar el nombre adecuado para mí. Sin embargo, con el tiempo pinté mi primera obra de carácter realista y sentí que necesitaba un nombre diferente. En la presión del momento escribí descuidadamente mi nombre de Facebook en aquel entonces a continuación (jacklack como jetlack o algo sombrero un anillo fresco a lil mí). Seguí haciéndolo para todas las paredes sin letras y, finalmente, me quedé atascado y aquí estamos. Hoy en día Jack es tanto mi nombre como mi nombre real.
As most if us do, I burned through most of the classical writers names when I was young experimenting with all types of letters in an attempt to find the right name for me. However, eventually I painted my first realistic character piece and felt like it needs a different name. In the pressure of the moment I carelessly wrote my Facebook name back then below (jacklack like jetlack or something hat a cool ring to lil me). I kept on doing it for all the no letter walls and eventually it got stuck and here we are. Nowadays Jack is as much my name as my real one.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Fue la velocidad y el tamaño de las piezas de spraypaint lo que me hizo empezar a pintar. Pero de alguna manera mientras pintaba letras siempre me sentía como copiando a los grandes maestros así que mi motivación fue disminuyendo. Finalmente me tropecé con una imagen de retrato de Smug Ones. Pensar que cosas así son posibles con un spray me hizo volver a ser un adicto a la pintura. Hoy en día, lo que más me motiva es la diversión mientras pinto y, en segundo lugar, la idea de transmitir un sentimiento positivo al espectador, así como una pequeña historia.
It is the speed and size of spraypaint pieces that made me start painting. But somehow while painting letters I always felt like copying the grandmasters so my motivation got less and less. Eventually I stumbled over an Image of Smug Ones portraits. The thought that stuff like this is possible with a spraycan instantly made me become a painting junky again. Nowadays, what motivated me most is the fun while painting and second the idea to convey a positive feeling to the viewer as well as a little story.

What is your style?
Yo diría que algo entre el realismo y el impresionismo pintado con spray. Intento establecer puntos de enfoque en zonas difuminadas que no siguen necesariamente las reglas de la profundidad.
I would say something between realism and impressionism painted with spraypaint. I try to set focus points in areas of fade which don’t necessarily follow the rules of depth.

Muy divertido. Junto a otros artistas increíbles. Desafortunadamente, ha estado muy ocupado el año pasado así que disculpas masivas que no había tiempo antes.

Do you remember the first piece?
Recuerdo el momento en que la pintura se convirtió en una obsesión. Era mi primer mural realista planeado. Estuve increíblemente concentrado durante unas 10 horas y justo después de terminar me di cuenta de lo increíblemente hambriento, sediento y cansado que estaba. No he perdido esa sensación hasta hoy. Todavía tengo que poner una alarma para no olvidarme de la pausa para comer.
I remember the moment painting switched to an obsession. It was my first planned realistic wall. I was insanely concentrated for easily 10 hours and just after I finish I realized how insanely hungry, thirsty and tired I was. Haven’t lost that feeling till today. I still need to set an alarm to not just forget a lunch break.
