¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
No significa nada. Es sólo una combinación de algunas de mis letras favoritas. Igual que »Skare», un nombre que llevo haciendo un par de años, que no es más que un anagrama de »Kear» con una S.
It doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a combination of some of my favorite letters. As goes with ‘’Skare’’, a name I’ve been doing for a couple of years, which is just an anagram of ‘’Kear’’ with an S.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Siempre he dibujado y pintado, pero nunca me he decantado por ninguna técnica o motivo en particular. Como crecí en una isla en la que no había graffiti, no tuve contacto con él de niño. Así que cuando unos amigos del instituto me introdujeron en el graffiti a través de revistas, quedé completamente absorbido por él, y me pareció justo lo que había estado deseando hacer, sin saberlo. Si eso tiene sentido.
I’ve always been drawing and painting, but never settled for any particular technique or motif. Growing up on an island with basically no graffiti, I wasn’t really exposed to it as a kid. So when I was introduced to graffiti through magazines by some friends in high school I was completely absorbed in it, and it felt just like what I’d been wanting to do, without knowing it. If that makes sense.

What is your style?
Me influyen muchas cosas y trato de hacer algo que me guste. Pero si quieres resumirlo en pocas palabras, tal vez sea la vieja escuela neoyorquina con un toque moderno.
I’m influenced by a lot of different stuff and just tries to make something that I enjoy doing. But if you want to try and boil it down and put it into a few words, New York old school with a modern touch maybe.

Do you remember the first piece?
Mi hermano y yo fuimos en bicicleta a nuestra pequeña fama local una noche tarde. Él tenía que ayudar a iluminar la pared con una linterna, ya que estaba completamente oscuro. Después de sólo pintar un par de minutos una patrulla de policías gritando irrumpió desde diferentes direcciones con las armas desenfundadas.
Al parecer eran narcos que estaban vigilando porque el lugar también se utilizaba para el tráfico de drogas. Nos vieron llegar en moto y pensaron que no estábamos tramando nada bueno. No fue el mejor comienzo y fue toda una experiencia para dos adolescentes inexpertos. Irónicamente, este lugar se legalizó unos meses después…
Me and my brother biked out to our little local fame one late night. He was supposed to help light up the wall with a flashlight since it was completely dark. After just painting a couple of minutes a patrol of screaming cops stormed in from different directions with guns drawn.
Apparently they were narcs on a lookout because the spot were also used for drug dealing. They just happened to see us bike in and thought we were up to no good. Not the best start and quite a trembling ordeal for two inexperienced teenagers. Ironically this spot became legal a few months after…
