¿Por qué tu tag es “Lortek”?
Why is your tag”Lortek”?
Hay una larga historia detrás. Empieza cuando cogí un libro sobre Henri Toulouse Lautrec y lo leí como una persona disléxica y conseguí sacar Lortek. El ultimo año en Zagreb pintaba en el Meeting of styles y debido a una pequeña producción por el tamaño del muro tuve que acortarlo a Lore, cuando volví a Belgrado encontré la palabra en ingles. Por lo que Lortek proviene de la palabra en Serbio Loreteck lo que para mi significa la tradición tecnológica. Muy conceptual lo se.
There is a long story behind it. It starts with me geting a book about Toulouse Lautrec and I read it like a dislexic person and got Lortek out of it. Latter that year in Zagreb I was painting at MOS and because I got a small spot there had to shorten the name came up LORE, when I came back to Belgrade I found out it is an english word . So Lortek became a Serbian speling for LORETECK … witch for me means technology of lore … very “conceptual” I know.

What do you try to express with your graffiti?
Personalmente pienso que el acto de pintar graffiti es el mensaje principal ( dejando una marca personal en este mundo).
Personally I think that an act of painting graffiti is the main message (leaving personal mark in this world).

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?
What do you motivated to get started being a graffiti writer?
Desde que era un crío estaba alucinando con los sprays.. pintar presionando un botón. Después de adolescente me di cuenta que nosotros mis amigos y yo podíamos decorar lugares donde pasar el rato. rápidamente se extendió a toda la ciudad, primero con los tags y entonces cualquier cosa (pompas, piezas etc) también y a la vez obtuve una copia de SUBWAY ART, que realmente me ayudo a entender el fenómeno del graffiti en todo su concepto y como el graffiti se debía de hacer.
Ever since I was a kid I was fascinated with spray cans … paint on press of the button. Latter as a teenagers I realised we (me and my friends) that we could decorate places where we hang out. quickly it spread to the whole city, first with tags and then everything else (throw ups, pieces etc.) also at the same time I got a copy of SUBWAY ART , that really helped me understand the whole graffiti writing fenomenon and how a proper graffiti is made .

What is the style you use?
No tengo ni idea para ser honesto, algunas veces hago uno Gótico. Funk pero no parece esto todo el tiempo, es definitivamente una variación de una versión de un tipo de estilo clásico de la vieja escuela, pero minimalista a la vez.
I don’t know to be honest , sometimes I call it GOTH-FUNK but it doesn’t look like that to me all the time , it is defenetly a version of some kind of old school classic style … but minimalistic at the same time.
¿Puedes hablar sobre el graffiti en tu ciudad?
Can you talk about this as the graffiti in your city?
Por el momento el graffiti es muy popular en Belgrado. Por supuesto esto tiene cosas buenas y malas. los trenes no están limpios y el sistema es pequeño por lo que algunas veces es complicado pintar sin tapar piezas recientes, debido a esto es por lo que hay movidas entre nosotros los escritores, especial entre los jóvenes. Por otro lado puedes pintar muros durante el día sin permiso y no hay ningún tipo de problemas. Como cualquier país tercermundista la policía tiene muchos problemas mayores como para coger a los escritores. Ooo Si!! las dos caras de la moneda.. como siempre.
At the moment graffiti is very popular in Belgrade. Of course that has good and bad sides to it … trains are not buffed at all and system is small so it is sometimes dificult to paint without crossing fresh pieces, because of that there is a lot of beef between writers , specially younger ones. On the other hand you can paint walls douring day time without permissions and have no problem. Like any third world country police have much biger fish to fry then chasing writters. So yeah , two sides to the coin… as always.
