¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Mi apodo viene de mi primer apellido Mataone ,también puse Maestrone una temporada a finales de los 80 viene de Mata Escobar mis dos apellidos, cuando estaba muy buscado por la seguridad de Metro y Renfe de Madrid invertí mi firma y ponía Atam, cuando salí de estar preso volví con Maex en el bombardeo para no estar reconocido de nuevo, y en los murales Matart fusión de Mata y arte.
My nickname comes from my first surname Mataone, I also put Maestrone a season in the late 80’s comes from Mata Escobar my two surnames, when I was very wanted by the security of Metro and Renfe of Madrid I reversed my signature and put Atam, when I got out of prison I returned with Maex in the bombing to not be recognized again, and in the murals Matart fusion of Mata and art.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Pintaba desde que era un niño , me gustaban las letras ,los carteles ,los murales que se veían eran de partidos políticos , y los de OTAN no ,UGT … ganaba muchos concursos de pintura y no paraba de pintar ,un día vi en la tv unos negros bailando break en el 83 y eso se junto con algunas firmas que ya se veían por Madrid y Móstoles ,apareció un vecino con un par de sprays en el barrio y nos fuimos a poner nuestros nombres en un muro a escondidas ,me gustó tanto que solo me importaba eso, firmar y firmar.
I painted since I was a child, I liked the letters, the posters, the murals that were seen were of political parties, and not NATO, UGT … won many painting contests and did not stop painting, one day I saw on TV some blacks dancing break in 83 and that along with some tags that were already seen in Madrid and Mostoles, a neighbor appeared with a couple of sprays in the neighborhood and we went to put our names on a wall on the sly, I liked it so much that I only cared about that, tag and tagging.

What is your style?
Mi estilo es salvaje, con letras bailando o luchando entre ellas con un estilo antiguo luchando por que se entiendo lo que pone y olvidando el trazo para obtener una imagen modelada en 3d.
My style is wild, with letters dancing or fighting with each other with an old style fighting to understand what it says and forgetting the stroke to get a 3d modeled image.

Siempre es bueno difundir tus trabajos y con entrevista mejor ya que la gente no sabe mucho de mí por que no lo busco, y el llegar a mucha gente con tus piezas es Graffiti también de eso se trata de ser lo más visto posible.
It’s always good to spread your work and with an interview it’s better since people don’t know much about me because I don’t look for it, and reaching many people with your pieces is Graffiti too, that’s what it’s all about, to be seen as much as possible.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Mis primeras piezas eran huecas, sin relleno simplemente el boceto , las primeras rellenas fueron en el 84 y fueron un mata con novelty y Eva la siguiente que es mi hermana.
My first pieces were hollow, without filling, just the sketch, the first filled ones were in 84 and they were a mata with novelty and Eva the next one who is my sister.

Lo que me gustaría decir son tantas cosas que necesitaría mucho tiempo para decir , voy a decir una que todos callan , el graffiti en este país esta realmente infectado de falsos que van de bien quedas porque no les queda otra para poder estar en la escena, realmente son unos toys y no dan para más pintando con lo cual hacen lo que sea por estar ahí , apoyan a estos que son conocidos en este país como artistas del graffiti que realmente no son dignos de estar en nuestra cultura ya que son los típicos que por ganar pasta pintando se vienen arriba cambiando su forma de ser y de tratar ,son los típicos que utilizan todo lo que les rodea para triunfar y si te visto no me acuerdo, vamos un tipicazo que huele demasiado que se está cargando el graffiti real haciéndole el vacío e ignorándolo de tal manera que no se note mucho ya que viven de ello pero no lo practican. Así esta el tema lleno de cromos que aburren y si no fuese por algunos que se lo curran.
What I would like to say are so many things that I would need a lot of time to say, I will say one that everyone is silent, the graffiti in this country is really infected with fake that go well left because they have no other way to be on the scene, really are some toys and do not give for more painting with which they do whatever it takes to be there, support those who are known in this country as graffiti artists who really are not worthy of being in our culture because they are the typical ones that to earn money painting they come up changing their way of being and dealing, are the typical ones who use everything around them to succeed and if I see you I do not remember, we are a typical that smells too much that is loading the real graffiti making it empty and ignoring it in such a way that it is not very noticeable because they live from it but do not practice it. So this is the subject full of stickers that bore and if it were not for some who take care of it.
