Where does your pseudonyme come from?
Mi nombre es una obra de todos los artistas en todos los campos. Todos nos inspiramos en el arte anterior o en las generaciones anteriores de arte y lo llevamos a nuestro propio nivel. Por lo tanto, Mister Copy es una referencia a mi inspiración en las artes y los artistas que me rodean. No me avergüenzo de decir que me inspiraron muchos artistas urbanos increíbles, desde Pichi Avo, Akhine, Li Hill y Telmomiel.
My name is a play on all artists in every field. We all get inspired from previous art or older generations of art and we take it to our own level. Therefore, Mister copy is a reference to my inspiration on Arts and Artists around me. I am not ashamed to say a lot of amazing street artists inspired me, from Pichi Avo, Akhine, Li Hill and Telmomiel.

What motivated you to get started painting?
Creciendo en Johannesburgo, Sudáfrica, siempre me intrigó a una edad temprana, miraba las firmas y las pompas en la calle. La idea de que todo el mundo pueda ver una pequeña marca que dejaste atrás siempre era fascinante. Empecé a firmar y a hacer vandalismo sólo para darme cuenta de que mi amor por esta forma de arte no era compartido por la población en general. Luego pasé a añadir más colores y conceptos a mi arte y el amor comenzó a crecer lentamente. Me di cuenta de que conseguir la admiración de la anciana que vivía en la esquina era mucho más importante para mí que el respeto de los grafiteros locales. Por eso, hoy en día, me concentro en el arte callejero y en crear un mensaje positivo para que todas las edades lo disfruten y lo aprecien.
Growing up in Johannesburg, South Africa, I was always intrigued at a young age, looking at the tags and throw ups on the street. The idea that everybody can see a little mark you left behind was always fascinating. I started tagging and Vandalising only to realise that my love for this art form was not shared by the general population. I Then moved on to adding more colours and Concepts to my art and the love slowly started growing. I realised that getting admiration from the old lady living on the corner was way more important to me than the respect of the local graffiti artists. This is why, today, I focus on street art and creating a positive message for all ages to enjoy and appreciate.

A menudo incorporo alas porque me fascinan los mundos que nos rodean y que nunca vemos o entendemos. Sé que todos tenemos un ángel guardián que nos guía y en mis obras de arte creo estos iconos para que la gente los vea y se sienta intrigada. Mis obras de arte no son una referencia religiosa al clásico ángel que verías, no estoy promoviendo una religión específica. Mi objetivo es hacer a mis personajes más modernos y relacionables. Mi nuevo concepto en el que estoy trabajando es crear un giro moderno a la vieja mitología griega de los dioses y todos estos interesantes personajes. Esencialmente estoy creando seres estatuarios que no son estatuas sino personas de la vida real.
I often incorporate wings as I am fascinated with the worlds around us that we never see or understand. I know that we all have a guardian angel guiding us and in my artworks I create these icons for people to see and feel intrigued. My Artworks are not a religious reference to the classical Angel you would see, I am not promoting a specific religion. My goal is to make my Characters more modern and relatable. My new concept I am working on is creating a modern day twist to old greek Mythology of the gods and all these interesting characters. I am essentially creating statuesque beings that are not statues but real life people.

What is your style?
Soy un artista callejero que usa pintura en spray. Viniendo del mundo del graffiti me siento más cómodo con un bote que con un pincel. Me gusta hacer obras de arte en escala de grises con un toque de color en ellas. Siempre incorporo ángulos de 45 grados cortando mi obra y creando alguna forma de movimiento direccional.
I am a street artist that uses spray paint. Coming from the graffiti world I feel more comfortable with a can over a brush. I like to make greyscale artworks with a splash of colour in them. I always incorporate 45 degree angles cutting through my Artwork and creating some form of directional movement.

Do you remember the first piece?
Probablemente tenía 13 años cuando pinte por primera vez en el patio trasero fue con mi crew y con mi colega (Naus), él fue mi mentor y me enseñó a usar el control del spray con la mierda de pintura en aerosol local del supermercado. Me encantaba la sensación de pintar con un spray, eran letras, sólo que en 2010 empecé a pintar caras.
I was probably 13 in my crew mates backyard (Naus), he was my mentor and showed me how to use can control with the local shitty spray paint from the supermarket. I loved the feeling of painting with a can, it was letters, only in 2010 I started painting faces.

Nvs Crew (crew envidiosa). Somos una crew con base en Sudáfrica, Alemania y Francia.

Sólo quiero estar agradecido por el movimiento de la escena del arte callejero y realmente mostrar la bendición de que miles de artistas de todo el mundo puedan viajar y pintar su graffiti o arte callejero, haciendo lo que les gusta y ganar dinero con ello. Este es un tiempo increíble en el que vivimos. Gracias a todos los amantes del arte callejero y el graffiti.
I just want to be grateful for the Movement of the street art scene and really show the blessing that 1000s of artists around the world can travel and paint their graffiti or street art, doing what they love and make money from it. This is an amazing time we live in. Thanks to all the lovers of Street art and Graffiti.
