¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Solía estar en la escena underground Hip Hop y el nombre que usaba entonces era «ENNICEE» como (NIC) cuando volví al graffiti después de un largo paréntesis (ENNICEE) era demasiado largo para una firma por lo que el tag N.EYE.C fue creado.
I used to be in the underground Hip Hop scene and the name I used then was “ENNICEE” as in (NIC) when I got back into graffiti after a very long hiatus (ENNICEE) was way too long as a tag so N.EYE.C was created.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Mi primer recuerdo fue la portada de «Hey You» de The Rock Steady Crew. Luego recuerdo que copié los caracteres de Needle to the Groove de Mantronix y los pegué en mi radiocasete. Eso fue alrededor de 1986.
My first memory was the cover of ‘Hey You’ by The Rock Steady Crew. I then remember copying the characters from Needle to the Groove by Mantronix and sticking them on my boom box. That was around 1986.

What is your style?
Yo diría que en el muro soy semi wildstyle/wildstyle. También hago ilustraciones de estilo cómic con B-Girls y fondos retro clásicos.
I would say on a wall I’m semi wildstyle/wildstyle. I also do comic style illustrations with B-Girls and classic retro backdrops.

It’s a privilege having people interested in your work, platforms like this are needed to keep the culture going.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Sí, fue en una pista de Hertfordshire en 1986, cuando mi firma era SMOOTH. Eran otros tiempos, se acumulaba la pintura, abundaban los lugares para pintar y corrían buenos tiempos. La única influencia real entonces era el Subway Art, el Spray can Art y para mí lo que salía de Londres. Mirando hacia atrás siento que había menos planificación, a diferencia de los muros de hoy en día.
Yes! It was a trackside in Hertfordshire in 1986 when my tag was SMOOTH. It was different times then, you would rack your paint, places to paint were in abundance and times were good. The only real influence then was Subway Art, Spray can Art and for me what was coming out of London. Looking back I feel there was less planning unlike todays walls.
