¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Cuando empecé la búsqueda de un Tag, una de las cosas que buscaba era un seudónimo que sea lo contrario a mi personalidad, siendo una persona tranquila y tímida, quería crear un personaje distinto a mi que transmita esa fuerza, pasión y locura. Así fui creando un concepto para PSYCO, que por medio de los colores y formas buscaba transmitir en los personajes diversas emociones.
When I started searching for a Tag, one of the things I was looking for was a pseudonym that would be the opposite of my personality. Being a calm and shy person, I wanted to create a character different from myself—one that conveyed strength, passion, and madness. That’s how I began shaping the concept of PSYCO, aiming to express various emotions in the characters through colors and shapes.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
La cultura del Hip Hop fue parte fundamental de mi interés y desarrollo como artista, cuando estaba en el colegio a la edad de 15 años, cerca a mi casa hicieron un festival de Hip Hop en donde vi a varios Writers pintar, me senté a mirar a cómo dominaban el spray de cierta manera para darle forma a letras y personajes, ahí quedé enamorado de la versatilidad del spray, no era algo tradicional como la pintura, al contrario para la época era todo un reto crear todas esas cosas con tan pocas herramientas.
Hip Hop culture played a fundamental role in sparking my interest and development as an artist. When I was 15 and still in school, a Hip Hop festival was held near my house. There, I watched several Writers paint, sitting and observing how they mastered the spray can to shape letters and characters. I instantly fell in love with the versatility of spray paint. It wasn’t traditional like other forms of painting; on the contrary, at the time, it was a real challenge to create all those things with such limited tools.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
El uso del spray es algo con lo que siempre he vivido encantado, empecé haciendo tags y bombas muy corto tiempo. El graffiti al ser ilegal, era algo que se tenía que hacer de noche y rápido, fue algo que no era para mi. Es por eso que me mantuve más en el Street Art y poder desarrollar con paciencia mis proyectos.
I’ve always been fascinated by the use of spray paint. I started by doing tags and throw-ups, but only for a short time. Since graffiti is illegal, it had to be done at night and very fast, which wasn’t for me. That’s why I gravitated more toward Street Art, where I could take my time and develop my projects with patience.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Fue en un festival de graffiti en el cono norte de Lima, en el 2016, no tenía cámara ni celular para ese registro. Creo que mi estilo se mantuvo, solo que fue evolucionando y mejorando. Hasta el día de hoy cada vez que pinto siento una satisfacción grande, ya que cada muro es una nueva experiencia y un reto distinto que se logra.
It was at a graffiti festival in the northern district of Lima in 2016. I didn’t have a camera or a phone to document it. I believe my style has remained the same, only evolving and improving over time. To this day, every time I paint, I feel a deep sense of satisfaction because each wall is a new experience and a different challenge to overcome.
Y para terminar ¿algo que quieras decir?
And finally, anything you want to say?
Algo que siempre menciono es que por más talento que tengas, si no hay disciplina nunca podrás evolucionar. Si no crees en ti, nadie lo hará por ti. Es un mantra que lo tengo siempre.
Something I always mention is that no matter how much talent you have, if there is no discipline you will never be able to evolve. If you don’t believe in yourself, nobody will do it for you. It’s a mantra I always have.
