Especialmente las personas que se dedican al arte necesitan renovarse y mejorarse constantemente.
En esta dirección, el artista debe sentirse constantemente inadecuado. En esta dirección, pongo mi apodo realweak (inadecuado). Probablemente, por mucho que mejore mi técnica y creatividad en mi viaje artístico, me sentiré inadecuado en lo que hago durante el resto de mi vida.
Especially people dealing with art need to constantly renew and improve themselves.
In this direction, the artist must constantly feel inadequate. In this direction, I put my nickname realweak (inadequate). Probably, no matter how much I improve my technique and creativity in my art journey, I will feel inadequate in what I do for the rest of my life.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Empecé a hacer graffiti en 2003, cuando vi el escrito «Mert» en un aparcamiento de Estambul. Obviamente, aunque el graffiti es muy mediocre hoy en día, me fascinó la primera vez que lo vi. Ves un grafiti en la calle, es muy impresionante pero no está claro quién lo ha hecho. Obviamente, este misterio me atrajo hacia el arte del graffiti. Entonces combiné mis habilidades pictóricas del pasado con la pintura en spray. Empezaron a surgir obras preciosas.
The reason I started graffiti started in 2003 when I saw the writing “Mert” in a parking lot in Istanbul. Obviously, even though the graffiti is very mediocre today, I was fascinated when I first saw it. You see a graffiti on the street, it is very impressive but it is not clear who did it. This mystery obviously drew me into the art of graffiti. Then I combined my painting skills from the past with spray paint. Beautiful works started to emerge.

What is your style?
Me gusta hacer muros conceptuales con una historia utilizando una combinación de Carácter y Estilo. Tengo un estilo que es compatible con el realismo en cuanto al carácter. Puedo decir que he creado mi propio estilo al pintar letras.
I like to make concept walls with a story using a combination of Character and Style. I have a style that is compatible with realism in terms of character. I can say that I have created my own style in writing.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Sí, hice mi primer graffiti en 2004 en un paso subterráneo de Estambul con pinturas de aficionado con un amigo del instituto. Fue un trabajo muy amateur. Tuvimos que dejarlo sin terminar y huir porque era ilegal. No puedo describir el placer que sentí aquel día. Hoy no siento el mismo placer en mi trabajo que cuando lo hice por primera vez. Probablemente disfruto del proceso de aprendizaje. A medida que aprendo y me desarrollo, mi tasa de disfrute de una obra disminuye en proporción inversa. Puedo decir que el placer de sentirme incapaz y trabajar duro y mejorar en este sentido me hace seguir adelante. Contar en el sitio no es para mí.
Yes, I did my first graffiti in 2004 in an underpass in Istanbul with amateur paints with a friend from high school. It was a very amateur work. We had to leave it unfinished and run away because it was illegal. I cannot describe the pleasure I got that day. Today, I don’t get the same pleasure in my work as I did when I first did it. I probably enjoy the learning process. As I learn and develop, my rate of enjoying a work decreases in inverse proportion. I can say that the pleasure of feeling inadequate and working hard and improving in this direction keeps me going. Counting in place is not for me.
