Where does your pseudonym come from?

Mi seudónimo proviene de un personaje llamado Rogue Trooper de un cómic llamado 2000ad. Leía mucho ese cómic cuando era más joven y al decidirme por un nuevo nombre de tag elegí Rogue. Más tarde añadí el Uno.

My pseudonym comes from a character called Rogue Trooper in a comic called 2000ad. I read that comic a lot when I was younger and when deciding on a new tag name I chose Rogue. I then later added the One.

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

Me motivaron para empezar a pintar unos amigos que hacían graffiti y breakdance. Me aficioné a la música Hip Hop cuando era joven y el graffiti era una parte importante. Mis amigos me enseñaban revistas con graffitis y sus propios dibujos. Empecé a dibujar a los míos y a salir a pintar con ellos.

I was motivated to start painting by friends that did graffiti and breakdancing. I got into Hip Hop music when I was young and graffiti was a big part of that. My friends showed me magazines with graffiti and their own graffiti drawings. I started to draw my own and then go out painting with them.

What is your style?

Mi estilo actual es muy fotorrealista, pero he pasado por muchos estilos. Obviamente, empecé con letras de graffiti, luego hice personajes de graffiti. Durante un tiempo hice cosas de street art con plantillas. Pero mi amor por el arte clásico normal y el retrato me llevó a centrarme en el fotorrealismo.

My style nowadays is very photorealistic but I have been through many styles. Obviously I started with graffiti letter pieces, then I did graffiti character work. For a while I did some street art stencil stuff. But my love of classic normal art and portraiture led me to focus on photorealism.

I think it’s great to have my work published on your website, because its good to have art shared so that people that might not have seen it can discover it!.

Do you remember the first piece?

Mi primera obra popular fue un retrato del rapero de hip hop Ice Cube. Lo hice ilegalmente y me pasé dos noches trabajando en él. Estaba en una pared que daba a una calle principal, así que mucha gente lo vio y habló de él. Eso fue en parte lo que me enganchó al graffiti.

My first popular piece was a portrait of hip hop rapper Ice Cube. I did it illegally and spent 2 nights working on it. It was on a wall that faced a main street, so many people saw it and talked about it. That’s part of what got me hooked on graffiti.
