¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Se me ocurrió la firma en 2006, queriendo destacar entre todos y crear algo único, algo que realmente se quedara en la mente de la gente. En ucraniano significa «El que pica».
I came up with my tag back in 2006, wanting to stand out among everyone and create something unique, something that would really stick in people’s minds. In Ukrainian, it means ‘The one who chops.’
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Mi primer dibujo lo hice con spray en 2002 en la fachada de mi casa de Ternopil, mi ciudad natal. En aquella época, la cultura hip-hop se estaba desarrollando rápidamente, y era muy guay bailar breakdance y pintar grafitis. En realidad, por aquel entonces no teníamos tiendas de graffiti en nuestra ciudad donde pudieras comprar pintura profesional o incluso encontrar revistas interesantes con trenes cubiertos de graffiti. Todo sucedía a un nivel subconsciente; pintábamos con pintura barata normal de coche y nos pasábamos de mano en mano viejas cintas de VHS con películas de graffiti.
My first drawing was made with aerosol spray in 2002 on the facade of my house in my hometown of Ternopil. At that time, hip-hop culture was rapidly developing, and it was really cool to dance breakdance and paint graffiti. Actually, back then, we didn’t have graffiti shops in our city where you could buy professional paint or even find interesting magazines with trains covered in graffiti. Everything happened on a subconscious level; we painted with regular cheap car paint, and old VHS tapes with graffiti films were passed hand to hand.

What is your style?
Mi estilo es un experimento constante con ideas y formas. En mi opinión, pintar graffiti tradicional se ha vuelto bastante aburrido y ordinario. Por eso siempre intento idear algo nuevo, progresista. Por supuesto, tengo algunos tipos de letra con los que podría crear cualquier firma.
My style is a constant experiment with ideas and forms. In my opinion, painting traditional graffiti has become quite boring and ordinary. That’s why I always try to come up with something new, progressive. Of course, I have a few fonts in which I could create any tag.

Creo que es una gran idea. Después de navegar por su página web, no he visto a ningún grafitero de Ucrania, así que sería un honor para mí ser el primero de mi país aquí.
I think it’s a great idea. After browsing your website, I didn’t see any graffiti artists from Ukraine, so it would be an honor for me to be the first from my country here.
