¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonyme come from?
Mi apodo no significa nada más que el nombre de mi calle. Al principio, eran tres letras góticas escritas al azar S, I y D (en ese momento dibujé palabras geniales al azar, no mi apodo). Me gustaban estas letras por su estructura, y su orden parecía sonar bien. Después de algún tiempo pintando estas tres letras en los muros, me di cuenta de que esto era demasiado poco para mí y empecé a añadir dos letras mas, OK. Me gustaba cómo sonaba. Así es como se formó mi apodo Sidok.
My pseudonym means nothing but only my street name. In the beginning, these were three randomly written Gothic letters S, I and D (at that time I sketched random cool words, not my nickname). I just liked these letters for their structure, and their order just seemed to sound good. After some period of painting three letters on the walls, I realized that this was too little for me and I began to add elements of two letters, OK. I liked how it sounds. This is how my nickname Sidok was formed.

What motivated you to get started painting?
Recuerdo las primeras emociones cuando vi a un chico pintar algo colorido y salvaje en mi calle durante el día. En ese momento, todavía no entendía que eran letras, y más aún, nombres. Se veía brillante, grande y fresco. Ese tio se veía confiado y concentrado, aunque estaba haciendo algo que salía del espacio público. Sentía libertad y algo inexplicablemente genial. En ese momento, estaba simplemente aturdido por lo que vi, y quería saber todo sobre lo que vi, lo que sentí. Este fue mi primer amor. Amor por los colores brillantes, las paredes y las pinturas. Amor por el graffiti.
I remember the first emotions when I saw one guy painted something colourful and wild on my street during the day. At that moment, I still did not understand that these were letters, and even more so names. It just looked bright and big and fresh. That guy looked confidently and focused, although he was doing something that went out of the public space. I felt freedom and something inexplicably cool. At that moment, I was simply stunned by what I saw, and I wanted to know everything about what I saw, what I felt. This was my first love. Love for bright colours, walls and paints. Love for graffiti.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Para mí, el estilo es un concepto muy dinámico e intuitivo. Esa cosa inexplicable que puede unir esferas completamente diferentes y tener una sola letra. Si estamos hablando de graffiti, entonces, en primer lugar, para mí son las formas y figuras. Las formas de las letras, la estructura, su dinámica, la textura y la formación de las letras, cómo se crean. He sido un fan del clásico wild style durante mucho tiempo, y creo que dejó una huella en mis letras. Esto es lo que todavía me inspira. Mi estilo actual es la experimentación, diversas combinaciones e interpretaciones dentro de mis letras básicas. Me gusta cambiar, mezclar y ver qué va a pasar hoy. Esto es un proceso. Esto es alquimia.
For me, style is a very dynamic and intuitive concept. That inexplicable thing that can unite completely different spheres and have one handwriting. If we are talking about graffiti, then first of all for me it is forms and shapes. Forms of letters, structure, their dynamics, texture and the formation of letters, how they are created. I’ve been a fan of the classic wild style for a long time, and I think it left an imprint on my letters. This is what still inspires me. My style today is experimentation—various combinations and interpretations within my basic lettering. I like to change, mix and see what going to happen today. This is a process. This is alchemy.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Por supuesto, esos momentos no se olvidan. Muchos momentos de cuando empecé me vienen a la mente. Mi primera gran pieza fue en un grupo de amigos, que luego se convirtió en la creación de la crew. Luego escribimos el nombre de nuestro bloque en grandes letras góticas. La atmósfera era como en las mejores tradiciones del graffiti ilegal. Los chicos están al acecho, alguien está dibujando, alguien está rellenando la pieza. La adrenalina sale de la escala normal, y no quiero parar de pintar. Parece que esa noche no dormí. Las emociones me abrumaban, y los pensamientos eran sobre qué hacer a continuación.
Creo que esta pieza aún cuelga en la pared y decora la entrada de la zona.
En ese momento, cada pieza era un evento completo. Cada acción tenía que ser preparada como un robo en un banco, meticulosamente y planificado. En nuestra ciudad, en ese momento, no había paredes legales. Por lo tanto, el valor de cada pieza es incomparable con el de hoy.
Of course, such moments are not forgotten. Many first moments come to mind. My first big piece was in a group of friends, which later grew into the creation of the crew. Then we wrote the name of our block in big Gothic letters. The atmosphere was like in the best traditions of illegal graffiti. The guys are on the watch, someone is sketching, someone is filling. Adrenaline goes off the scale, and I don’t want to stop. It seems that that night, I did not sleep. Emotions overwhelmed me, and thoughts were about what to do next.
I think this piece still hangs on the wall and decorates the entrance to the area.
At that moment, each piece was a whole event. Each action had to be prepared like a bank robbery, meticulously and planned. In our city, at that moment, there were no legal walls. Therefore the value of every each piece is incomparable with today.

What is your crew?
Soy miembro de dos crews: CameloT Crew (CTC) – la crew base donde empecé, y Royal Cru. Ambas crews son de mi región en Ucrania, y tienen chicos geniales. Es un placer conocer a la crew y pintar al llegar a casa.
I am a member of two teams CameloT Crew (CTC) – the root crew where I started, and Royal Cru. Both teams are from my region in Ukraine, and they have cool guys. It’s a pleasure to meet the crew and paint on arrival home.
