¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Bueno, spliff es en inglés un pequeño porro que se fuma entre horas. Como siempre me gusta fumar un poco, de ahí viene mi nombre. En alemán, «fumar un porro» significa literalmente «fumar un porro».
Well, a spliff is a little joint that you smoke in between times. Since I’m always in for a little smoke that’s where my name comes from. In German, „to spliff one“ literally means „to smoke a little joint.“
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Cuando tenía unos 12 años, se construyó una nueva autopista en mi ciudad natal y allí reconocí por primera vez unas piezas muy bonitas. Supe inmediatamente que sería un sueño conducir por esa carretera y ver una de mis piezas allí arriba.
Me inspiró para empezar a dibujar, pero mi pasión era el skateboarding en ese momento. Así que me llevó unos cuantos años más y una rotura forzada debido a una rotura del ligamento cruzado para meterme de lleno en el graffiti. A la edad de 22 años di los primeros pasos con el spray en el garaje de un amigo. Pero realmente empecé 2 años después por mi hermano que me llevó a a la ruina.
When I was about 12 years old, a new city highway was built in my hometown and that’s where I recognized some really nice pieces for the first time. I knew immediately that it would be a dream to drive down that road and to see one of MY peaces up there.
It inspired me to start drawing but my passion was skateboarding at that time. So it took a few more years and a forced break due to a cruciate ligament rupture to get me really into graffiti. At the age of 22 I did the first steps with the spray can in a friends garage. But I really started 2 years later because of my brother who took me to a ruin.

What is your style?
Cuando hago letras, lo llamaría «abstracto-geométrico» y mis personajes tienden a ser más fotorealistas o una mezcla de ambos. Trato de combinar ambos, por ejemplo cuando utilizo lo que aprendí sobre las sombras realistas en mis letras o cuando hago elementos abstractos en los fondos de mis personajes.
When I do letters, I would call it „abstract-geometric“ and my characters tend to be more fotorealistic or a mix of both. I try to combine both, for example when I use what I learned about realistic shadows in my letters or when I do abstract elements in my characters’ backgrounds.

Siempre estoy feliz cuando mi trabajo es compartido porque espero inspirar a otras personas a romper con las reglas clásicas del graffiti.
I’m always happy when my work is shared because I hope to inspire other people to break out from classic graffiti rules.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Cuando empecé, me ceñí a las «reglas clásicas del graffiti», como rellenar, trazar, bloquear, resaltar, segunda y bam, listo. Mi primera pieza fue en una nave industrial abandonada en mi ciudad natal de Kiel a principios de 2012. Era un estilo muy simple con sólo dos colores en el relleno y un contorno que era muy atrevido. En ese entonces me resultaba difícil hacer líneas limpias y a menudo me sentía insatisfecho con mis antecedentes. Sólo hice unas pocas piezas en mi ciudad natal antes de mudarme a España con mi hermano @dustin_tattooism donde hicimos graffiti todos los días durante medio año y mejoramos mucho porque nos motivábamos entre nosotros. En Alemania raramente hacía muretes de día porque prefería hacer graffiti de noche y por eso mis piezas tenían que ser rápidas pero a la vez coloridas y complejas. Cuando dejé de hacer las cosas nocturnas que producen adrenalina, lo reconsideré todo porque me apetecía hacer algo nuevo y diferente. Estaba súper interesado en cosas hiperrealistas y en pintar grandes murales con tiempo ilimitado.
Estoy súper feliz de tener la oportunidad de hacer muros y murales bonitos y todavía trato de mejorar en cada pieza que hago.
When I started, I sticked to the „classic graffiti rules“, like fill-in, outlines, blocks, highlights, second and bam, done. My first piece was in an abandoned industrial hall in my hometown Kiel in the beginning of 2012. It was a very simple Style with only two colors in the fill-in and an outline that was way to bold. Back then I found it hard to do clean lines and often felt unsatisfied with my backgrounds. I only did a few pieces in my hometown before I moved to Spain with my brother @dustin_tattooism where we did graffiti everyday for half a year and improved a lot because we pushed each other. Back in germany I rarely did walls at daytime because I preferred to do graff at night and so my pieces had to be fast but nevertheless colorful and complex. When I stopped doing the adrenaline kicking nighttime stuff, I reconsidered everything because I felt like doing something new and something different. I was super interested in hyperrealistic stuff and to paint big murals with unlimited time.
I’m just super happy that I get the chance to do nice walls and murals and I still try to improve with every piece that I make.
