¿De dónde viene vuestro apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Empezamos a escribir los nombres Stain y Nise sin pensar en hacer una combinación de los dos nombres. Simplemente los elegimos porque los nombres tienen letras chulas para dibujar y sonaban bien. Al cabo de un par de meses nos dimos cuenta de que la combinación de los dos era genial y la gente empezó a llamarnos «stay nice» cada vez más.
We started to write the names Stain and Nise without any thoughts to make a combination of the two names. We just picked them because the names have cool letters to draw and they sounded good. After a couple of months we noticed the cool combination between the two and people started to name us ‘stay nice’ more and more.
¿Qué os motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Empezamos a pintar en 1997, así que este año celebramos 25 años de pintura. Nacimos en un pueblo muy pequeño, así que tardamos algún tiempo en ver por primera vez una obra en la vida real. A los dos no nos interesa el hip hop, así que tuvimos que descubrir muchas cosas por nuestra cuenta. Cuando vimos Bomber Magazine por primera vez, nos abrió los ojos. El graffiti siempre ha tenido un papel importante en nuestras vidas desde que pintamos nuestra primera pieza. La motivación estaba ahí.
We started painting in 1997 so this year we celebrate 25 years of painting. We are born in a really small village so it took some time since we first saw a piece in real life. We both don’t have any interest in hip hop so we had to find out a lot by ourselves. When we saw Bomber Magazine for the first time it truly opened our eyes. Graffiti always played a big part in our lives since we painted our first piece. The motivation just was there.

¿os acordais de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Hicimos nuestra primera pieza juntos y era totalmente basura. Era una pieza de «Dirt». Creo que ‘Dirt’ venía de un disco de Alice In Chains que poniamos mucho en aquella época.
We did our first piece together and it was totally garbage. It was a ‘Dirt’ piece. I believe ‘Dirt’ came from an Alice In Chains record we played a lot at that time.
