¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?
What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?
Gracias a mi padre y madre llevo el arte en la sangre, empece a dibujar desde los 4 años y a ello me he dedicado toda la vida, cuando en la adolescencia empece a hacer amigos, empece a ir a la crew de mi hermano mayor, quienes al ver mis bocetos me dijeron ¨tu podrías formar parte de la crew¨ y así empece a ir con otros escritores más mayores que yo, de quienes aprendí todo bueno. Mi verdadera motivación fue la aceptación inmediata del grupo, y que por primera vez en la vida, a mis 16 años mi trabajo artístico era tema de conversación entre la gente de mi edad, escuchar que los chicos del colegio hablaban de tu nombre sin saber quien era el que estaba detrás del tag… fue una de las experiencias más divertidas en mi vida.
En Ecuador no habían muchos escritores, 1999 -2000.. ser el mejor me parecía fácil por aquel entonces y así fue como la fama de escritor llegó temprano, y lo disfrute de gran manera, siempre me tomé el arte y el diseño con gran respeto.
De la seriedad a la responsabilidad, empecé con la crew más activa y antigua del país y la presión que nos poníamos a ser los mejores era y ha sido constante, había buena competencia que nos motivaba a mejorar, hermanos, primos, amigos, todos se involucraron en el grafitti, mi motivación fue tal que sentí que el graffiti ¨cambiaba al mundo¨, había mucha magia en el poder del spray, hicimos más bien que el mal en ese entonces, era todo una aventura, primero para conseguir espacios, luego para pulir ¨el estilo¨ ya que teníamos que mejorar el estilo por lo que profundizamos en la reflexión personal sobre el mensaje de las obras, jamas fuimos una crew típica y eso ha marcado en mi personalidad hasta el día de hoy, en todo.
Thanks to my father and mother I felt the art when i was a child, I started to draw since i was 4 years old and I have dedicated my whole life, when i was a teenager I started to make friends, I started to go to the crew of my older brother, i saw them my sketches and they told me «you could be part of our crew» and so I started to go with other writers older than me, from whom I learned all good. My true motivation was the immediate acceptance of the group, and that for the first time in my life, when i was 16 years old my artistic work was a topic of conversation among people of my age, i usually heard that the boys of my school talked about my tag without knowing who Was the one behind the piece … it was one of the funniest experiences in my life.
In Ecuador there weren’t many writers, 1999-2000 .. being the best seemed easy to me back then and that was how the writer’s fame came early, and enjoyed it in a great way, I always understood the art and design with great respect .
From seriousness to responsibility, I started with the most active and old crew in the country and the pressure that we became the best writers and i have been constant in my work, there was good competition that motivated us to improve, brothers, cousins, friends, everyone Involved in graffiti, my motivation was such that I felt that graffiti «changed the world», there was a lot of magic in the power of spray can we did great things, it was an adventure, first to get spaces, we were trying to improve «the style» since we had to improve the style so we deepen in personal reflection on the message of the works, we were never a typical crew and that has marked in my personality to this day, in everything.

Defino mi estilo como una simplificación estilizada de personajes reales, de la expresión corporal, una oda al misterio de la belleza femenina en diversas culturas, de la aceptación de la naturalidad como la belleza máxima, la captura de la expresión verbal como una nueva dimensión en la escritura del graffiti, no letras, si no rostros expresando palabras muy profundas con su mirada, con sus labios seductivos e inocentes, es un reflejo de la misma juventud, de la gente que amo, de mi mismo.
I define my style like a stylized simplification of real characters, of corporal expression, an ode to the mystery of feminine beauty in diverse cultures, from the acceptance of naturalness as the maximum beauty, the capture of verbal expression as a new dimension in the writing of graffiti, not letters, if not faces expressing very deep words with their eyes, with their seductive and innocent lips, is a reflection of the same youth, the people I love, myself.

En el año 2010 tuvimos el honor de conocer al rincón de las boquillas con mi crew cuando organizamos el primer meeting latinoamericano de graffiti writers, El rincón de las boquillas fue elemental conexión en la preparación del evento, fue un éxito total, ningún otro evento había logrado conectar writers en la región con tanta viralidad, auspiciantes en todo el planeta representando al graffiti ayudándonos unos a otros, desde entonces le he tomado mucha importancia a la web, a la cual la vimos crecer y creemos en ese mismo espíritu de participación y colaboración, enlaces internacionales que promueven, protegen y legitiman al artista del spray desinteresadamente alrededor del mundo, tienen todo mi apoyo.

Increíblemente Shenzhen es una ciudad con una escena de graffiti creciente y competitiva, hablamos de la ciudad donde se producen la mayoría de las marcas de spray del mundo.. muchos artistas del graffiti han venido a dejar su rastro en ella, y eso ha motivado y educado a los escritores, es joven en relación a Sudamerica por ejemplo, pero hay un potencial increíble cada fin de semana hay dos o mas eventos de graffiti, las empresas culturales han encontrado en el graffiti una forma de atraer la atención de la juventud lo cual es positivo en términos del crecimiento y auto-sustentabilidad del estilo de vida del artista grafitero.

Libertad, el sentido de libertad que el graffiti me lo da no se compara con nada, es como esa novia perfecta, tu esposa, con quien puedes pasar horas de horas en su regazo y hace que el tiempo se pase volando… y tiene su recompensa, el graffiti es muy bien agradecido mientras mas tiempo se lo das mas felicidad y actos positivos de desencadenan a tu alrededor.

What is your real job?
No puedo vivir del graffiti todavía pero la tecnología va avanzando, soy diseñador gráfico Senior de una corporación dedicada al desarrollo de equipos de sonido y estilo de vida, pero puedo decir que hace 9 años mi carrera empezó de una muy buena forma gracias a la promoción que me di con el graffiti.
