¿Por qué tu tag es STOE?
Why is your tag STOE?
Elijo mi nombre hace casi 12 años. Antes tenía un tag, con una combinación de letras muy similar, que ya no quería escribir. Pero me gustaron las letras y después de algunos experimentos lo plasmé en la realidad.
I choose my name nearly 12 years ago. Before that I had a tag, with a very similar lettercombination, which I didn`t want to write anymore. But I liked the letters and after some experiments I took the actual version.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?
What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?
Empecé a pintar a mediados de los años 90. En ese momento el Graffiti y Hip Hop eran muy grandes en mi ciudad y todos en mi colegio estaban haciendo tags y bocetos. Algunos muchachos mayores de mi colegio eran muy activos y reconocidos en mi ciudad durante ese período y me motivaron a hacer mis primeras piezas.
También estuve un tiempo, en el que no era muy activo, por diferentes razones, pero nunca perdí mi interés en él.
I started writing in the mid ´90s. At that time Graffiti and Hip Hop was very big in my hometown and everyone in my school was doing tags and sketches. Some older guys from my school were very active and wellknown in my city during this period and they motivated me to do my first pieces.
There also was a time, when I wasn`t being so active, because of different reasons, but I never lost my interest in it.
¿Qué tratas de decir con tus graffitis?
What do you try to say with your graffiti?
Al principio quería ser creativo para mí mismo. Me encanta probar diferentes cosas y mejorar con mis propios ojos.
En una segunda fase, me gustó la actitud rebelde que tenía el graffiti en el pasado. Lamentablemente, esta actitud se está perdiendo un poco y algunas malas influencias, como los intereses comerciales, llegaron. Entonces, en este momento no quise decir nada importante. ¡Es solo por diversión!.
At first I wanted to be creative for myself. I love to try different things and get better in my own eyes.
In a second way I liked the rebelish attitude graffiti had in the past. Sadly these attitude is getting lost a little bit and some bad influences like commercial interests came along. So, at the moment I don´t want to say anything important. It`s just for fun!
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Creo que es algo que otras personas pueden describir mejor. Siempre trato de mantener en mi mente las influencias que tenía cuando era un niño en mi ciudad, durante la creación de algo nuevo. ¡Tiene que haber mucho funk!.
I think that is something that can be described better by other people. I always try to keep the influences I got as a kid in my hometown in my mind, during creating something new. There has to be a lot of funk!!
¿Te importaria contarnos como es un dia normal durante tu semana?
Would you mind telling us how is your normal day during the week?
Estoy feliz de tener un trabajo que realmente me gusta. Enseñar a los niños … Y cuando hay algo de tiempo extra para dibujar, todo es perfecto.
I´m happy to have a job I really like. Teaching kids…. And when there is some extra time for drawing – everything is perfect.

¿Dónde te gustaría pintar?
Where would you like to paint?
Me gusta el sabor de algunas ciudades como París, Berlín o Hamburgo, pero no tengo objetivos especiales. Realmente me encanta viajar y ya he explorado muchos países durante los últimos años, pero en la mayoría de los casos, escribir no era la razón principal para visitarlos. Es más acerca de la naturaleza hermosa y de las diferentes culturas.
I like the flavour of some citys like Paris, Berlin or Hamburg, but I have no special goals. I really love to travel and have already explored a lot of countrys during the last years, but in the most cases, writing was not the main reason to visit them. It`s more about beautifull nature and different cultures.
¿Puedes hablarnos del graffiti en tu ciudad?
Can you talk us about the graffiti in your city?
Bremen alguna vez tuvo una escena muy activa desde las últimas tres décadas. En el pasado, los escritores estaban más concentrados en pintar con estilos, hoy es más sobre una buena acción. Durante todos los años hubo siempre algunas personas que estaban bombardeando con fuerza en las calles y especialmente en el acero. Tristemente, algunos de mis héroes personales se detuvieron o fueron más en una dirección artística, en lugar de arder con el siguiente estilo.
Bremen ever had a very active scene since the last three decades. In the past, writers were more concentrated on stylewriting, today it´s a bit more about a good action. During all the years there were alway some people who were bombing hard in the streets and especially on steel. Sadly some of my personal heroes stopped or went more in an artistic direction, instead of burning with the next style.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti que te mantiene haciendolo?
What do you like the most about graffiti that keeps you doing it?
La creatividad y pasar buen tiempo con los amigos. Creativity and a nice time with friends.

Además de algunos escritores geniales de Bremen, yo también me quedaba flipando desde que era un niño, con los pioneros de la vieja escuela europea.
Beside some cool writers from Bremen, I looked up too since I was a kid, I like the european oldschool pioniers.
