¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Cuando tenia 12 años en mi vecindario era muy común ir a los cafe internet ya que no teníamos acceso a una computadora en casa, los chicos del vecindario me mostraron un sitio web de graffiti que estaba en su totalidad en ingles, y una de las palabras que resalto entre tantas fue «Stripe» que su traducción literal es Raya, era uno de los elementos que se podia agregar dentro de las letras, así que decidí apropiarme de ese nombre.
When I was 12 years old in my neighbourhood it was very common to go to internet cafes as we didn’t have access to a computer at home, the neighbourhood kids showed me a graffiti website that was entirely in English, and one of the words that stood out among so many was ‘Stripe’ which literally translates as Stripe, it was one of the elements that could be added inside the letters, so I decided to appropriate that name.

What motivated you to get started painting?
La influencia de mi hermano mayor por hacer graffiti ilegal y firmar muchas paradas de autobús y los cristales de las tiendas en el centro de mi ciudad, seguido a eso que me gustaba mucho dibujar personajes de caricaturas conocidas.
The influence of my older brother for doing illegal graffiti and signing many bus stops and shop windows in the centre of my city, followed by the fact that I liked to draw well-known cartoon characters.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
Me gusta la infinita interpretación que puede tener un graffiti en las paredes, todos quienes hemos visto un graffiti hemos podido experimentar una diferente perspectiva sobre lo que nos atrae mas o menos y el sentido que queremos darle y esa mezcla de emociones al espectador es la principal razón de seguir haciéndolo a día de hoy.
No me agrada el hecho de que sea una subcultura tan infravalorada en diferentes partes del mundo no obstante también lo hace bastante interesante de descubrir, creo que hay mas pros que contras en mi opinion.
I like the infinite interpretation that graffiti on walls can have, all of us who have seen graffiti have been able to experience a different perspective on what attracts us more or less and the meaning we want to give it and that mix of emotions to the viewer is the main reason to keep doing it today.
I don’t like the fact that it is such an underrated subculture in different parts of the world but it also makes it quite interesting to discover, I think there are more pros than cons in my opinion.

Creo que es bastante innovador y enriquecedor para los escritores y no escritores que verán esta nota alrededor del mundo y me emociona mucho ser tomado en cuenta en esta ocasión.
I think it is quite innovative and enriching for the writers and non-writers who will see this note around the world and I am very excited to be considered for this occasion.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Me reunía mucho con otros escritores de graffiti de mi vecindario y en una ocasión me ofrecieron acompañarlos a pintar una yarda, me sentía bastante confiado y con muchos nervios al mismo tiempo, no fue para nada como esperaba que fuera ni siquiera un poco, pero estoy mas que convencido que fue la mejor decision de mi vida el agarrar ese aerosol color verde bosque de la marca acuario y dejar esos trazos bastante inseguros pero llenos de energía.
I used to meet a lot with other graffiti writers in my neighbourhood and on one occasion they offered me to join them to paint a yard, I was feeling quite confident and nervous at the same time, it wasn’t at all what I expected it to be even a little bit, but I’m more than convinced that it was the best decision of my life to grab that forest green aquarium spray paint and leave those rather unsure but energetic strokes.
