¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Al principio comencé poniendo solamente Tego, porque me gustaba la sonoridad de la palabra y la G en el medio me parecía que daba mucho juego. Luego vi que se me quedaba un poco corto y le añadí la S. Y si, me gusta mucho la música de Tego Calderón también jaja.
At first I started with just Tego, because I liked the sound of the word and the G in the middle seemed to give a lot of play. Then I saw that it was a bit too short and I added the S. And yes, I like Tego Calderón’s music a lot too haha.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Empecé a fijarme mucho en los personajes de los murales de mi barrio porque me gusta dibujar desde que tengo memoria. Luego descubrí las letras y con ello que se repetían por diferentes lugares de mi zona. Eso me hizo darme cuenta que había personas que las escribían y todo un mundo detrás de ellas. Fue de una manera inversiva y muy analógico todo, mucho antes de internet.
I started to pay a lot of attention to the characters on the murals in my neighbourhood because I have liked to draw for as long as I can remember. Then I discovered the letters and that they were repeated in different places in my area. That made me realise that there were people who wrote them and a whole world behind them. It was in an inverse and very analogue way, long before the internet.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
Lo que más me gusta es la sensación de libertad, la constante evolución en inconformismo con lo que hacemos que nos hace seguir. Los muchísimos amigos que me ha regalado esta movida, con los que he podido viajar y vivir aventuras por muchos sitios. Lo mejor que te da el graffiti es todo lo que lo rodea.
Lo que menos me gusta a día de hoy es el purismo de la gente de mi edad y su relación con las nuevas generaciones. Y tampoco me hace ninguna gracia la gente que convierte pintar en una obligación que hay que hacer si o si regularmente para estar dentro del juego. A veces ni a mí mismo me apetece, no tengo imaginación, ganas o me apetece hacer cualquier otra cosa en esta vida. No sean pesados.
What I like most is the sensation of freedom, the constant evolution in non-conformity with what we do that keeps us going. The many friends that this movement has given me, with whom I’ve been able to travel and live adventures in many places. The best thing about graffiti is everything that surrounds it.
What I like least today is the purism of people my age and their relationship with the new generations. And I also don’t like people who turn painting into an obligation that you have to do regularly in order to be in the game. Sometimes I don’t even feel like it myself, I have no imagination, no desire or I don’t feel like doing anything else in this life. Don’t be a pain in the ass.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Si me acuerdo si. Hacia el año 2002 pinté lo primero que puedo llamar pieza, con su relleno, linea, brillos, fondo… un desastre. Pero me lo pasé en grande y aquí seguimos. Fue en Pamplona en el patio de un colegio y duró bastante tiempo. No tenía muchas referencias, ni revistas ni nada, por lo que me influenciaba de dibujos que veja en marcas de ropa de la época o lo que veía por ahí. Una idea que me ronda desde hace tiempo es volver a pintar en aquel mismo lugar pero reversionando aquella pieza. Tal vez lo haga!.
Yes, I remember. Around 2002 I painted the first thing I can call a piece, with its filler, line, glitter, background… a disaster. But I had a great time and here we are. It was in Pamplona in a school playground and it lasted quite a long time. I didn’t have many references, no magazines or anything, so I was influenced by drawings I saw in clothing brands of the time or what I saw around. One idea I’ve had for a long time is to paint again in the same place but reversing that piece. Maybe I’ll do it!
