¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Zijan significa travesura en bosnio. Cuando era pequeño, mi abuela siempre me decía que era un auténtico travieso porque rompía cosas por casa y corría de un lado a otro. Más tarde, empecé a escribir Zion. Como es un poco aburrido tener la I y la O una al lado de la otra, un amigo me sugirió que probara otra combinación. Zian parecía perfectamente adecuado. Twek fue una buena combinación de letras para mí cuando empecé a pintar. Creo que es mi primera firma, y me quedé con ella.
Zijan means mischief in Bosnian. When I was little my grandmother was always telling me I a real mischief because I was breaking things around the house, and running around. Later in the life, I started writting Zion. Since it is kind of boring to have I and O next to each other, a friend suggested i try some other combination. Zian seemed perfectly suitable. Twek was just a good combination of letters for me when i started painting. I think it is my first tag, and I stayed with it.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Fueron los amigos los que empezaron a pintar. Un día vinieron y dijeron «Oye, hemos empezado a hacer graffitis. ¿Quieres hacerlo con nosotros?» Claro que sí. Por aquel entonces jugaron a «Getting up», me dieron un CD para que lo instalara en mi PC y empezamos. Creo que todo el mundo quiere marcar su nombre en alguna parte, y en esos años de adolescencia no es difícil hacer que alguien haga algo que no debería. Seguro que la dimensión de que era ilegal y estaba prohibido también fue una gran motivación.
It was Friends who started painting. One day they came and said “Hey we started doing graffiti. You want to do it with us?” Hell yes. Back then they played Getting up, gave me a CD to install on my PC, and we started. I think everybody wants to mark their name somewhere, and in those adolescent years it is not hard to make somebody do something they shouldn’t. For sure, the dimensión of it being illegal and forbidden was a big motivation as well.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Creo que son letras muy sencillas dibujadas a partir de una línea. Empiezo con la primera letra, dibujo la mitad de ella y continúo de la misma manera hasta la última letra, y luego conecto la línea de vuelta al principio. A veces hago sólo la mitad, por lo que se obtiene un fragmento de una letra en lugar de la totalidad. Esta sustracción de elementos en la letra es un buen concepto para mí. En lugar de añadir un montón de conexiones y flechas, tal vez añadiría un lanzamiento en alguna parte o simplemente algunas líneas o formas abstractas. También me gusta tener una imagen limpia.
Actualmente también estoy experimentando con murales y arte callejero. Sin duda influye en mi estilo, pero intento mantenerlo lo más separado posible de mi graffiti.
I think it is very simple letters drawn from one line. I start with the first letter, draw a half of it and continue in the same manner to the last letter, and then connect the line back to the beginning. Sometimes i do just the half of it, so you get a silhouette of a letter instead of the whole. This subtraction of elements on the letter is a good concept for me. Instead of adding a lot of connections and arrows, maybe I would add a throw up somewhere or just some abstract lines or shapes. I also like to have a clean picture.
Nowadays I am also experimenting with murals and Street art. It influences my style in some way for sure, but I try to keep it as separate as I can from my graffiti.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
La primera pieza se pintó en un tren de mercancías abandonado en unas cocheras con basura. Estas basuras eran restos de la guerra de los años 90. La gente iba a estos sitios para inyectarse heroína o lo que fuera. Teníamos creo que 12 o 13 años y entramos en una de ellas que estaba llena de basura y mierda, pero nadie podía vernos. No tengo una foto o un recuerdo de cómo era e incluso de lo que escribí entonces. Solo recuerdo que estábamos acojonados por esos yonkis que andaban por ahí.
The first piece was painted in an thrash freight train on the rails above my building. These trashes were left overs from the war back in 90s. There were a lot of them and people were using them to take heroin shots, or whatever. We were i think 12 or 13 and entere one of them that was full of garbage and shit, but nobody could see us. I don’t have a photo or a memory of how it looked like and even what I wrote back then. I just remember we were scared as fuck because of those junkies walking around.

What is your crew?
Mi crew y mi familia son PBR. La fundamos hace más de 10 años. No estoy seguro de qué año fue, para ser honesto. Recientemente empecé a firmar con MDB como apoyo a mi nueva familia.
My crew and my family is PBR. We founded it more than 10 years ago. Not really sure what year it was, to be honest. Recently I started tagging MDB as a support to my new family.

Recuerda que el graffiti consiste en hacer lo que te dé la gana y donde te dé la gana. Sin reglas, sin limitaciones y sin errores o formas equivocadas de hacerlo. Es la libertad. Simplemente diviértete y que les jodan lo que piensen los demás.
Remember that graffiti is about doing whatever the fuck you want to do and wherever you want to do it. No rules, no constrains and no mistakes or wrong ways to do it. It is the freedom. Just have fun and fuck what others think.
