Where does your pseudonym come from?
No hay mucha historia detrás de mi nombre, honestamente disfruto de la fluidez de las letras juntas. Solía escribir «Woke», pero muchos otros empezaron a escribir Woke, así que eliminé la E y añadí una A.
There’s not much of a story behind my name, I honestly enjoy the flow of the letters together. I used to write “Woke”, but too many others began writing Woke so I dropped the E and added an A.

What motivated you to get started painting?
De niño me atraían mucho los colores vibrantes de los graffitis que se hacían en mi ciudad. Empecé a hacer garabatos en papel hacia el final del instituto. Al final del instituto quería ver mi trabajo en las paredes públicas, así que decidí empezar a salir a hacer misiones nocturnas divertidas.
As a kid I was so drawn to the vibrant colors in graffiti pieces that were done around my town. I started doodling graffiti on paper towards the end of middle school. By the end of high school I wanted to see my work on public walls so I decided to start going out for some fun night time missions.

What is your style?
Mi estilo proviene de mi estilo de tatuaje «nueva escuela». Me encantan los personajes vibrantes de los dibujos animados, pero también me gustan las letras, así que a lo largo de los años he ido fusionando ambos elementos en las paredes.
My style stems from my “newschool” style of tattooing. I love vibrant cartoon characters but I also enjoy letters so I’ve been merging both elements on walls over the years.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Mi primera pieza fue un intento rápido de garabatear un estilo a mano alzada en una tienda de electrónica en la calle de mi casa. Estaba muy nervioso, pero me encantaba todo lo que hacía. Con el tiempo, empecé a hacer obras cada vez más grandes por toda la ciudad hasta que pude relacionarme con otros escritores. Ellos pudieron mostrarme mejores lugares donde pude dedicar más tiempo a mi trabajo. Con el tiempo, esto me llevó a tener una cartera de trabajos que me condujo a muros legales más grandes y mejores y a trabajos por encargo. Es agradable que hoy en día no tenga que temer encontrarme con la ley. Sin embargo, sigue siendo agradable colarse en lugares abandonados de vez en cuando y colocar un personaje o una pieza.
My first piece was a quick scribbled attempt at a hand style on an electronic store down the street from my house. I was so nervous but loved everything about it. Eventually I began doing larger and larger pieces throughout town until I was able to link up with other graffiti artists. They were able to show me better locations where I was able to take more time on my work. Eventually this lead to a portfolio of work that lead to bigger and better legal walls and commissioned jobs. It’s nice that I don’t have to fear running into the law these days. However, it’s still nice to sneak into abandoned locations every now and then and put a character or piece up.
