¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Soy Mexicano pero toda mi obra la he desarrollado viviendo en España. Mi primera referencia de pintura la encontré en mi pueblo cuando era niño, con los murales nacionalistas que había en la escuela primaria y las portadas de los libros de texto que nos daban cada año. Ya en la secundaria comencé a hacer tags y hacer piezas. Pero lo que realmente me animo a empezar a pintar fue entrar al EFO crew con Genes un pintor de graffiti por el que pude conocer a otros artistas que se dedicaban plenamente a la pintura y por los que me atreví a volcarme de lleno en el arte.
I am Mexican but I have developed all my work living in Spain. I found my first reference of painting in my town when I was a child, with the nationalist murals that were in elementary school and the covers of the textbooks that we were given every year. Already in high school I started to make tags and make pieces. But what really encouraged me to start painting was to join the EFO crew with Genes, a graffiti painter through whom I was able to meet other artists who were fully dedicated to painting and through whom I dared to turn fully into art.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Me gusta mucho el arte conceptual, la pintura figurativa, el color y la expresividad de la abstracción. Las imágenes que hago son composiciones con elementos orgánicos superpuestos en repeticiones y en diferentes escalas. Dependiendo del tema del proyecto pienso en el estilo y los materiales, para que todos los elementos que conformen la obra sumen significados en el resultado final del discurso artístico.
I like conceptual art, figurative painting, color and the expressiveness of abstraction. The images I make are compositions with organic elements superimposed in repetitions and in different scales. Depending on the theme of the project I think about the style and materials, so that all the elements that make up the work add meaning to the final result of the artistic discourse.

Me siento muy contento de poder compartir mi trabajo junto a los grandes talentos que forman este archivo, pienso que es una gran herramienta y espero que mi trabajo pueda servir como referencia para las nuevas generaciones de artistas.
I am very happy to be able to share my work with the great talents that make up this archive, I think it is a great tool and I hope that my work can serve as a reference for new generations of artists.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Sí que la recuerdo, fue la primera vez que eché todo un día pintando, recuerdo la sensación de ir al sitio con la mochila de camping cargada de aerosoles, recuerdo la motivación de por fin poder llevar un diseño más complejo del papel a la pared. Creo que es la mejor sensación que se puede recordar, pues era pintar por pintar, solo por el gozo de hacerlo y no había otra cosa que importara más que eso.
I do remember it, it was the first time I spent a whole day painting, I remember the feeling of going to the site with the camping backpack loaded with aerosols, I remember the motivation of finally being able to take a more complex design from paper to wall. I think it’s the best feeling you can remember, because it was painting for the sake of painting, just for the joy of doing it and there was nothing else that mattered more than that.

And finally, anything you want to say?
Siempre me habían preguntado sobre el tema de los murales, el proceso creativo en las obras, el discurso… pero es la primera vez que alguien me pregunta sobre mi primera pieza, esto me ha hecha conectar con esa parte esencial, la razón por la que me dedico al arte. Estoy agradecido por formar parte del rincón, pero les agradezco de corazón haberme hecho recordar lo fundamental, pintar simplemente por el gusto de hacerlo, da igual el qué o el cómo.
I had always been asked about the subject of the murals, the creative process in the works, the discourse… but this is the first time someone has asked me about my first piece, this has made me connect with that essential part, the reason why I dedicate myself to art. I am grateful for being part of the corner, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me remember the fundamental thing, to paint simply for the pleasure of doing it, no matter what or how.
