¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Al principio era la palabra rabies, pero había otra persona que la escribía y a mí no me gustaba la letra «i», así que la cambié un poco. Hoy en día juego con el nombre en diferentes pronunciaciones para darle un nuevo giro y algunas letras nuevas.
From the beginning it was from the word rabies but there was somebody else writing that and I was not really fond of the letter «i» in it so I changed it up a bit. Nowadays I play around with the name in different pronunciations just to get some new swing to it and some new letters.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Cuando era niño y estaba en el colegio, diría que la mayoría de la gente tenía su propia firma durante un breve periodo de tiempo. Tuve en mis manos un libro titulado «graffiti» con un tipo en la portada. Y entonces se acabó el juego. La actitud de «hago lo que quiero, cuando quiero y donde quiero» me atraía mucho. Supongo que lo que me hacía seguir adelante cuando era más joven era ser más grande que los demás y hacerlo más que los demás.
Hoy en día diría que es más una necesidad de pintar constantemente o estaré de mal humor y no seré la mejor compañía hasta que haya pintado. Pero el impulso ha evolucionado hasta convertirse en hacer buenas obras. Si hago una obra que no tiene nada nuevo. Para mí es un completo fracaso.
Back when I was in school as a kid I would say most people had their own tag for a brief period of time. I got my hands on the book titled «graffiti» with a guy on the front. And then it was game over. The whole attitude of i do what I want when I want and wherever I want to really appealed to me. I guess what kept me going when i was younger was to be bigger than everyone else and do it more than everyone else.
Nowadays I would say its more of need to paint constantly or I will be in a pissy mood and not the best company until I have painted. But the urge has evolved into just straight up doing good pieces. If I do a piece that does not have anything new in it. It is a complete failure in my book.

What is your style?
Intento cambiarlo dependiendo del humor del día o de los botes/plástica que tenga para ese día. Pero uno de mis amigos dio en el clavo hace poco en lo que creo que es la palabra perfecta para definirlo: «estilo salvaje orgánico». Si una línea es recta, para mí es aburrida. Tiene que haber más cosas sucediendo todo el tiempo para que me guste. Como nunca pinto con bocetos, esta es también una forma muy libre de pintar para mí. A veces tiendo a olvidar lo que he esbozado y simplemente me dejo llevar y veo qué pasa. Rara vez hago ningún tipo de recorte. Es más divertido aceptar el error y encontrar una nueva solución para enmendarlo.
I try to change it up depending on the mood of the day or what cans/roller i have for the day. But one of my friends recently nailed what I think is the perfect word for it «organic wildstyle». If a line I straight its boring to me. There has to be more things happening all the time for me to like it. Since I never paint with sketches this is also a very free way of painting for me. I tend to forget what I sketched up sometimes and just go with it and see what happens. I rarely do any type of cutbacks. It is more fun to just accept the error and find a new solution to mend the mistake.

Es genial. El camino que instagram está tomando hoy en día es el de la autodestrucción, por lo que las webs de inicio regulares son agradables. Vengo de la era de fotolog donde podías subir como máximo 1 foto al día. Así que las páginas web de navegación de graff eran una necesidad.
It is great. The path instagram is going nowdays in on the road to self destruction so the regular homepages is nice. I come from the age of fotolog where you could upload maximum 1 pic a day. So the browsing webpages of graff was a must.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Lamentablemente no recuerdo cual fue mi primera pieza. Por aquel entonces, entre 1992 y 1994, no hacía fotos de nada. La primera de la que tengo una foto es de 1996. Pero despues de eso recuerdo que empece un negocio donde podia conseguir botes platas de «biltema» esto fue mucho antes de que montana o mtn existieran. Así que mis primeras 300-400 piezas eran todas latas plata y negras de carosol. Todos con boquillas originales.
Creo que todo el mundo que pinta mucho ha cambiado su estilo a lo largo de los años. Es una evolución natural. Pruebas cosas nuevas para ver cual se adapta mejor a tu forma de hacerlo. Incluso hoy en día no quiero encerrarme en un solo estilo.
La música siempre ha sido un factor clave para mí a la hora de crear cosas. Principalmente gangster rap desde el 94 hasta quizás 2010. Pero algunas piezas las hago con death metal y disfruto intentando pintar a la misma velocidad que la música. Le da una gran fluidez.
Sadly i don’t recall which was my first piece. Back then in 1992 to 94 ish I didn’t take pictures of anything. The first one I have a picture of is from 1996. But after that I remember I started a hustle where I could get chrome cans from «biltema» this was way before montana or mtn existed. So my 300-400 first pieces was all chrome and black carosol cans. All with original caps.
I think everyone that paints a lot has changed their style over the years. It is a natural evolution. You try new things to see which one appeals to your way of doing it. Even today I don’t want to be locked up in just 1 style.
Music has always been a key factor for me when creating stuff. Mainly gangster rap from 94 until maybe 2010. But some pieces i go with death metal and I enjoy trying to paint in the same speed of the music. It gives a great flow to it.

La vida es demasiado corta para no intentar pintar el mundo entero. Puede que no lo consiga, pero me niego a no intentarlo y sentarme a esperar la muerte no es una opción. Si quieres pintar mucho, prepárate para pintar mucho tú solo. Cuanto antes adquieras este hábito, mejor.

Life is to short to not try and paint the whole world. I may not succed but I refuse to not try and just sit around waiting to die is not an option. If you want to paint a lot u better be ready to paint a lot by yourself. The sooner you pick up this habit the better.
